FYI, I think I've seen "kraken" as its own plural more often than "krakens".

Merriam-Webster says either is acceptable. I went with "Krakens" because, for me, it felt clearer that the ring was made up of multiple "Krakii" versus just a ring of tentacles. *shrug*
