First off Chapter 22 is still coming albeit very slowly at the moment.

I've been dreading making this post, but first off, to allay any fears:

No I've not stopping writing, I love doing this far too much to even think about that.

No, the reason I've been dreading this is because I have to admit that I screwed up and that's why 22 is taking so long.

Let me explain, when I made my outline for the story it was just before Bea was introduced, since then TRC has grown into something far larger than what I had originally planned. There were elements that I knew needed to be explained but didn't have an idea how they were going to play out back then.

I had most of 22 written when I suddenly realized that if I posted it as it was there would be some huge and glaring continuity errors later on, mostly because I was still working off that outline I made all the way back in Chapter 10. Like an idiot I didn't update the outline with all of the things that had been added.

As such I had to scrap over half of chapter 22 and I've worked up a new plan for the last few chapters so that everything gets taken care of and put in its proper place before the end of the book. The new outline for these few chapters is actually longer than the one I had for the entire book back then. :P FYI The parts I removed will be showing up in later chapters.

My sincerest apologies for the delay, but I want to get this right and put out something that is worthy of your patronage.

As of right now i'm sitting at nine pages, but have the house to myself to work on it for the weekend.

The other thing I wanted to bring up, and another thing I've been dreading, it that i may have to slow down my output now that spring is here. Most of my work is outside work meaning that I have a bit of a slow period during the colder months. With the last freeze of the season done and over with, its time to get back to work out there.

My wife makes decent money and has been extremely supportive of my endeavors as an author but I can't expect her to go it alone. She really is the unsung hero of TRC because without  her I don't know if I would be able to do this at all. I'm hoping that I will be able to maintain three chapters a month, perhaps back to four once my youngest graduates and wanders off to the grandparents for the summer.

Lastly, this is not an entreaty for money, I am only saying this to let you know what is going on with my situation right now. A couple of you have upped your pledges lately and for that I am extremely grateful but I want to stress that I only want all of you to consider doing things like that if you truly feel that my work and abilities warrant it. In fact, for those kinder souls out there who might read this and immediately consider increasing your pledge to help me out, please wait.

Thank you all for your time and attention, with luck the next post will be far happier :)

Thanks for keeping us informed with how things are going. I'm glad you caught the issue before it was too late, as it's better to have a delayed story than one with plot holes. Do what you can, and make sure to put your health first.
