Thoughts and Plans (Patreon)

As I said in the last post there was a bunch of stuff I wanted to say but didn't want to ruin that feeling you get at the end of a good book.

Now it's a couple of days later an I have no idea what all that stuff was. *facepalm*

In personal news, my poor computer is slowly dying on me. She's had a good run but it's getting to the point where I hate shutting it down all the way because I can press the power button, go make some coffee, maybe grab a snack and it might be fully booted by the time I get back.

This might also be related to my wife needing a new computer because her old one couldn't handle Zoom calls or the video editing software she suddenly needed for her job because of COVID. It really showed me how old and slow mine had become, it was very gradual and was still the best comp in the house so I never really noticed. All in all, I can't complain, the Alienware plate on the bottom says "Deployed September 2014" making it a dinosaur in this day and age. As I said, she had a good run. I'm just hoping she can hold on long enough for me to scrounge up the money for a comparable new one.

Enough about me. Back to talking about the stories.

 Though I hadn't expected this to happen so soon, I already have a few pages of Book 3's Prologue written

More importantly, I have spent the last few days working on Book 3's outline. I already knew what I wanted to happen but now I have a rough idea of how things will play out.

I also decided to give Lucidchart's free service a shot and I think it is helping me immensely to have a visual representation of the different sections I have split Book 3 into. It's also nice to be able to move and switch ideas/events around just by dragging them here and there. Besides, they are one of the few companies whose commercials I actually enjoy  (puppers and danger noodles ftw)

I've seriously been considering writing up an annex or addendum to SftS of all of the sexy times that I glossed over for the sake of the story. I mentioned something along these lines in my "Off to the Editors" post for Ch 3,  but I'm thinking of expanding it. Someone on Wattpad made a comment that they were disappointed with the lack of a scene with Kal knocking up Graff and Velt. To be honest, I kind of agree with him. Plus... How exactly does it work when getting it on with a six-armed woman with the body of a giant snake instead of legs? There were just so many different opportunities for sex scenes that I was worried it would be too much and too distracting from the story, maybe I should have kept a couple more in. This way people could peruse them at their leisure. The only one I won't be bothering with is Ashlay. She was just a nod to Shayla the Pink Mouse by Shane Nelson which was one of the first (if not THE first) webcomics I ever kept up with way back in the mid-2000s.

Our next patron-picked companion for Kal has been chosen! 

As most of you know Sera was picked out by one of the Morning level patrons, as was Rowan, the will-o'-wisp. Unlike the other two, this one's type is very common within the MG genre and one that I was thinking of avoiding for just that reason. However, after doing some digging, I came to realize that while the type was ordinary, various species have some interesting and unique traits... and I think that's all I'm going to say for now other than I'm very happy with his choice.

Still plugging away at editing OatF but it has taken a back burner to finishing Book 2. Also,  2muchdiggity has pointed out some things that really has me straining my brain but it is still being worked on, albeit slowly.

Still looking for artists for the comic page. Most of the ones I have found that I like aren't taking commissions at the moment. Unfortunately, a couple of vehicle and appliance breakdowns, as well as a vet bill for our new and unexpected kitten, mean I'll need to wait until next month before contacting anyone. 😥 If anyone knows of any artists they think I should check out drop me a message and I'll take a look.

Sorry for the wall of text, but I think that covered most of what I wanted to mention in the last post.
