Lord of the Glass Desert Ch. 24 (Patreon)

Finally had to put this down and call it done for now. One of the pitfalls of editing is constantly seeing this little thing or that little thing that could be rewritten or made better. 

Note to those familiar with late Medieval/early Age of Sail ships: the Longboats in this chapter are closer to a large Launch in size, but it felt confusing to call them that. 

For those curious what I mean, a ship the size of The Scarlet Bitch would have needed to tow  (yes, this was a thing they did back then) a traditionally sized Longboat because it would have been far too large to stow on the ship itself. The Launch was a smaller alternative that came later in the Age of Sail and is often what you see them paddling ashore in pirate movies.

I am trying to get out another story this month but it will be a standalone and not related to any of my current series. I have quite a few of these stories tucked away in a Word doc, some of them for years now, and want to start working on them more. Not only do they de-clutter my head and get rid of my guilt for ignoring them for so long, but sometimes I do need to step back from TRC and kind of refresh my brain.

Not much to say in art news. I will be contacting Bun and Tort 9 soon but don't have anything in the works at the moment. (Had a few new bills that required my attention this month and that took away from my art budget. 😥)

Yard - Crossmember on the mast to which the sails are attached.

Yardarm - Very ends of the Yard
