Oct. Update (Patreon)

First of all, I want to congratulate Anabelle Hawthorne on transitioning to full-time writer. Unlike me, she did things the right way, waiting until she was well-established and had a few book releases under her belt before making the jump. My apologies for my relative silence lately. Those who have been here for a while know that I don't like making posts unless I have some kind of good news, but that's been in short supply lately. Aside from my being out of town quite a bit this past month, my daughter-in-law's father was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and that left us scrambling to get her out to see him before he passed. While I can't say I knew him well, we only met once at the kids's wedding, he was only a few years older than me, and his passing has me a little shook.

In my family, cancer is rare, and in each case, the person had many months and even years before complications took them. My daughter-in-law's father had less than a month from diagnosis to passing. The thought of being told you have two weeks to live the rest of your life, since your third week will be in a hospital bed doped up on morphine, is just... terrifying.

For those of you wondering, my daughter-in-law is doing okay, and the family has pulled together to fly her and the rest of the family out for the memorial.

With everything going on and my attention getting dragged in all sorts of directions, writing has been a struggle, but I'm hoping to have a chapter out in the next few days.

In art news... well... I have some bad news. Bun has added "💔Involuntary Indefinite Hiatus💔" to her Twitter and has not responded to any of my messages in over a month. Our last actual communication was over three months ago. Sadly, this means I am now looking for a new character artist. I hope Bun is okay and will keep an ear open in case she comes back from her hiatus, but some of you are paying for artwork, and I can't, in good conscience, wait any longer.

On a more positive note, Cartunizta is still working on comic pages, and I have not one but TWO new pages for the comic! (yeah... I forgot to post one. Sorry!😝) I'm going to put them in a different post for a degree of separation from all the heavy talk up above.

That's all I can think of for the moment, and I'm sorry I don't have a more positive update.
