This post is for the [Check Skin Exposure] check layer distribution.

When adjusting the final exposure, it is common to use the histogram as a reference. However, if there are areas in the background that are brighter than the skin, adjusting the exposure while looking at the histogram may result in a dark and dull tone to the skin while the background looks good.

By using this check layer, you can easily and visually adjust the ideal exposure for the skin area.

Basically, place the【Check Skin Exposure Layer】at the top and adjust the tone curve and other parameters at the bottom. After adjustment, hide 【Check Skin Exposure】.

The ideal exposure balance is to have only a few red areas on the skin. Pink areas are areas where the color has jumped. For darker hair, a slight purple in the hair is ideal.

Any brighter or darker than this will result in color skipping and blacking out.

If there are parts of the background or body that are too bright, colors may jump, so please use a layer mask to fine-tune the settings.

Please try 【Check Skin Exposure】 in the attached PSD file!
