I feel like you get the show which is what makes this soooo fun to watch with you! gg is one of those shows where I feel like new age watchers don't always understand that morality isn't a factor here lmao. like we have our opinions we judge and we also love the and live for the drama. we are thriving with the problematic new york elite socialite teens. there's nuance ofc, they're human and we can sympathise and care about them... but none of them are entirely "good" people lmao, but it's like we're in the inner circle with them and that's such a fun vibe!

lollll I used to be super attached to derena so I get the hate for nate, but I will say the backstory of the core four upper eastsiders (Blair, Serena, Nate, Chuck) becomes clearer as the show goes on, and they're supposed to be like childhood besties, truly found family, they've all grown up together and only they really know and get eachother and their complex family dynamics and their world etc. and it's one of my favourite aspects of the show. I think it makes us feel like we're in an inner circle, but that inner circle is so incestuous and messy (often immoral ha). I know you're farther in the series now so you probably know all of this now... and still stand by nate being annoying in this ep with serena LMAO. But I'm just saying I love the different dynamics of the group, and I believe and get why Nate would only trust Chuck, Blair, or Serena with such a personal family issue, and it's not just because Serenas the other girl yenno? He was literally trying his best to get Chuck or Blair, but Serena is the nicer one of the squad so ofc she wasn't lost in scheming and petty shit and was the only one there for him... and who wouldn't fall for Serena? lol BUT I also just enjoy the mess of a core group being that messy and yet so tightknitt and loyal. - sorry for the rant no one asked for that's probably so far behind where you're at in your watch AGH.

also LOL the way I do think it's overlooked that Jenny was literally serena for 30seconds and got to see how much serena has to deal with an how complicated her life and drama is... ppl love to hate on serena for being a messy eyeroll but drama fucking finds her and that's her norm.
