Hi Mike, some people were torn about the scene with Daphne and Simon because of what she did ( graping him). All will be revealed soon, thanks for the reaction update.

your reaction when Collin said he loved Marina made me cackle, and the way she spoke to the seamstress and basically blackmail her just shows us that she's starting to change and adapt some of the qualities of Lady Featherington (Penelope's mom). and yes, I absolutely love when Penelope start to whack them back, it's like she's getting more and more confident. that Daphne and Simon scene caused such a rift in the Bridgerton fandom and Daphne+Simon shippers...what she did was so wrong, like I understand she felt lied to and humiliated but to force someone that doesn't want to have kids...

My stance on Daphne and Simon's actions is that they both shattered each other. Now it's just up to them to either mend their relationship (not just romantically, either) or stay shattered. He lied and knew better, she tested him in a horrible way. BOTH acted without the knowledge and consent of the other. ESH (But I come up short on calling either one or both of them unforgivable, as some do.)

completely agreed. she wasn't able to give informed consent, and she violated his consent to having a baby. but I do get irritated at the angle they take with the duke, instead of him solely focussing on the fact that she violated his consent they focus on him being like "I didn't know" SIR she asked you "if it hurt" and what was going on when he finished outside of her, she asked about what the act of marriage was and he laughed at how little mothers tell their daughters - he knew she had the knowledge of consent and sex of a CHILD. None of that justifies sexual assault though, and her building back trust with him should also be significant.

@51:43. What she did here is called stealthing - removing access to a form of birth control/ contraception without a partner’s knowledge or consent, and it’s a crime. If it were the reverse, and a man held down a woman when she wanted to stop, there wouldn’t be so much moral confusion for folks. / What Simon said to her - in the middle of a duel that she rode into and halted - was, I can never give you children - I can’t provide that for you - it’s not as though there was room for conversation - and SHE made a unilateral choice for them in that moment to announce in front of people that he would marry her, when he had refused to do that. Then she started telling him that she would be satisfied with a childless life - which was a lie, she was heartbroken and not okay with it at all - but she chose that childless marriage. He never indicated he was impotent or had a medical condition, she assumed that. But what would it matter?! She needed him to marry her immediately to avoid ruin (Cressida) so it’s not as though she could choose the prince at that point. The fucked up thing that Simon did was follow her into the garden and kiss her - but he never tricked her about kids - and the idea of sexually assaulting someone and then delivering a self-righteous lecture about what you do to people you love is WILD crazy stuff.
