A Little Gossip Girl Update… (Patreon)

Y’all… I fear Gossip Girl and I may be approaching the end of our relationship. 😭

I haven’t been loving Gossip Girl for a while, but 5x11 REALLY tested me. That reaction will be up in a few hours, so you’ll get to witness my suffering firsthand 💀 I did like the ending, but unfortunately… I hated almost everything else about the episode. And at this point, I genuinely think Gossip Girl's best days are behind her. 🥺

I don’t want to keep reacting to a show just because I’ve already made it this far. Reactions are supposed to be fun, and if I’m consistently dreading watching something, I think it’s fair for me to ask whether that’s still worth my time, or yours.

That said, I also don’t want to abruptly end the series without giving it another chance. So I’m going to watch 5x12. After that, I’m going to decide whether I actually want to continue Gossip Girl.

Nothing is officially decided yet. I just wanted to give my GG Reelists a heads-up rather than randomly disappearing after an episode one day.

We’ll see what 5x12 has to say for itself…

Oh, and before my PLL Reelists start panicking… 😂 this is NOT a Pretty Little Liars announcement! I know I’ve been very vocal about not loving some of those episodes lately too, but the two situations feel very different to me.

PLL is a mystery, and there are still SO many answers I’ve been waiting forever for. Like I said in my last reaction, even when I’m not loving the episodes themselves, the intrigue is always there and keeps pulling me back in. I still genuinely want to know what happens and get answers to these mysteries.

With Gossip Girl, I’m reaching a different point where I’m questioning whether I even care enough about what happens next to keep watching, and that’s ultimately the bigger issue for me. That in addition to the fact that instead of wondering “OMG, WHAT’S GOING TO HAPPEN?!” I feel like I'm just sitting there like “...can we just GET THERE already?” 😭

So no, this is not me secretly preparing a PLL cancellation announcement next, lol.
