🤍 This is a very special Reelist Pick! This movie was chosen by Lance, who has officially been with me longer than any other active patron, all the way back to when I launched this Patreon in June 2023, without ever leaving! 🥹

I chose this movie at random (mostly based on the title) from a list of movies he picked as a little thank you for supporting me from the very beginning. So this one’s for you, Lance! 🫂

FYI: Before I pressed play, I was told the names of all the cast members from the Walking Dead that would be starring in this movie by a member of the community in Discord.

After a powerful storm damages their Maine home, David Drayton and his young son head into town to gather food and supplies. Soon afterward, a thick fog rolls in and engulfs the town, trapping the Draytons and others in the grocery store. Terror mounts as deadly creatures reveal themselves outside, but that may be nothing compared to the threat within, where a zealot calls for a sacrifice.

Thanks again, Mike! Even though you may only watch it once, I appreciate that you still found it entertaining well-produced. You also offered a perspective on David I hadn't really considered until this reaction, and you may be right! This was an adaptation of a Stephen King novella with the same title. The director to be darker and less hopeful than the source material, which King apparently appreciated and approved, differing from the one in his novella. Frank Darabont, who adapted and directed the film, also developed and was the showrunner for season 1 of The Walking Dead; it's why so many actors from the movie were cast in the show. He also wrote and directed two other Stephen King adaptations prior to this one: The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile. Also, the poster David is working on in his studio at the beginning is an homage to the central character in Stephen King's Dark Tower series (which I recommend if you enjoy reading, and it's not as dark as this).
