Reel Talk: Life, Reactions & What’s Coming Up! (Patreon)

Reelistssssssssss! 😝 Just wanted to pop in with a quick update and apologize for the slower week with content.

As some of you know, I’ve mentioned that a close friend of mine has been in the hospital. We unfortunately got some not-so-great news recently, and things aren’t looking very good, so right now we’re preparing for the worst. Keeping it together enough to sit down and film has been a little harder than usual this week, but I’m doing okay and taking things as they come. I just wanted to keep y’all in the loop since I’ve been updating you along the way. 🩷

And just to say this upfront: y’all have already been SO kind and sent so many well wishes for my friend, and I genuinely appreciate every single one. 🥹 Please don’t feel like you need to fill the comments with more of them! This is really just me keeping you updated on what’s going on and why things have been a little slower. I’d actually love to hear your thoughts on some of the Patreon stuff below though!

🗓️ ANOTHER SCHEDULE UPDATE... I KNOW 😭

At this point y’all know I am aggressively Type A and apparently will not rest until I have experimented with every organizational method known to mankind. BUT I think I’ve landed on a really clean A/B system for the shows getting 3-ish reactions per week.

Week A: OTH + PLL get 4 reactions each, while TVD + The 100 get 2 each.

Week B: TVD + The 100 get 4 reactions each, while OTH + PLL get 2 each.

Then we repeat! So each of those shows still averages 3 reactions per week / 6 every two weeks, but everything stays in clean two-episode batches.

Scandal, TWD, Grey’s and Yellowjackets will each get 2 reactions every week.

HTGAWM and Lucifer will alternate! One gets 2 reactions one week, the other gets 2 the next, and then they switch!

And one more programming note: AHS is officially waiting until PLL is finished, which should be around early-to-mid November. After my first Murder House experience... I think she can wait. 😭

🎥 NEW REACTION FORMAT: TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK!

As you may have already noticed, I’m experimenting with 2 reactions per video across Patreon rather than uploading every episode individually. I’ve also redesigned the actual reaction layout so that the episode itself has a much bigger window on screen.

PLEASE let me know what you think about both changes! Do you like having two episodes together? Do you prefer them separately? Do you like the bigger episode window/new design? I genuinely want to know how it feels from the viewer side before I completely settle into it.

I’ve also started using Patreon data like views, likes and comments a little more when making programming decisions, alongside how much I’m actually enjoying something!

That can help influence things like how many reactions a show gets per month, what gets prioritized, and sometimes whether I continue.

That does NOT mean low views = cancelled or high views = guaranteed to stay! There’s no magic number to hit. But especially for Patreon exclusive content, your engagement helps me know what y’all genuinely want more of.

And absolutely no pressure to comment if that’s not your thing. Even a quick like helps! 🩷

If you enjoy my random little updates, make sure you have notifications turned on for Quips! I’ve realized that a lot of y’all simply aren't seeing them.

That said, I’m going to start putting most updates in regular Patreon posts again so there's a much better chance everyone sees them.

Quips aren’t going anywhere, though! I love them. 😂 I’ll keep using those for the fun, casual stuff like random thoughts, what I’m filming, little teasers, quick reactions, questions, jokes, and general behind-the-scenes nonsense that you don’t necessarily need to see but might want to.
