The Lucas-Brooke-Peyton triangle is a mess but it would've all been avoided if everyone was just honest from the get-go. Brooke knew that Lucas liked Peyton, but from her pov, he's over it. She's also always been vocal about liking Lucas, and asked Peyton many times if she liked him back but she said no every time. It's pretty clear to us viewers that Peyton's always liked Lucas sure, but not to Brooke, and certainly not to Lucas. I honestly think if Peyton just told her she really liked him, Brooke would've backed off eventually

You are officially entering at the part of OTH when the drama is just getting better. I love seeing your reactions to all of it especially knowing what is coming. Can`t wait for the next reaction.👀😂

Naley stays the gold standard of fastburn ships!!! The chemistry is too elite to ignore. I feel like with the triangle I have my preferences depending on the episodes. I think with Brooke right now is her just feeling more comfortable going sexual with Lucas cuz that's what comes naturally for her and he's showing he's down for it.

nice

nathan and haley <3333333333

exactly!!! people always say peyton liked lucas first but she keeps telling brooke she doesn’t so how is brooke a bad friend for not reading peyton’s mind? peyton should be honest with brooke and then none of this would be happening now

fry

This is my first time watching this show and I genuinely don’t understand why I’m supposed to feel bad for Peyton in the whole Brooke and Lucas situation. This is genuinely just a opinion, I know some of yall may disagree and thats ok but from the beginning, Brooke has been completely open about her interest in Lucas, while Peyton has consistently avoided communicating her own feelings. I understand the argument that Brooke is her best friend and should recognize that Peyton likes him, but couldn’t the same be said about Peyton? She seems to assume Brooke only wants Lucas for sex, completely overlooking the possibility that her feelings could be genuine. Brooke has repeatedly asked Peyton if she’s okay with her pursuing Lucas, and Peyton has continuously reassured her that she is. You can’t expect someone to respect feelings you refuse to communicate and then resent them for believing what you’ve told them. What frustrates me even more is that Peyton expects Brooke to understand her emotional complexity while seemingly refusing to recognize Brooke’s. Even Peyton’s comic in the newspaper, which essentially mocked the stereotypical cheerleader, reflects how she seems to view her own best friend. She repeatedly reduces Brooke to being shallow or overly sexual without considering that there might be more beneath that personality. I think this is especially interesting because women are already so frequently reduced to their sexuality that sometimes they begin embracing that identity themselves. But being sexually confident doesn’t mean someone doesn’t crave love, vulnerability, or emotional intimacy. Why is Peyton’s guarded personality treated as evidence of emotional depth, while Brooke’s outgoing personality is treated as proof that she’s superficial? And Lucas is frustrating me just as much. I genuinely thought he was beginning to recognize that underneath Brooke’s flirtatious personality was someone who simply wanted to be loved and genuinely chosen. I thought he might bring out that softer, more vulnerable side of her. But now it feels like he chose Brooke because she’s the easier, less emotionally complicated option rather than because he actually wants to understand her. Ultimately, I don’t think Peyton is wrong for having feelings for Lucas, and I understand why the situation hurts her. But being hurt doesn’t automatically mean someone has wronged you. Peyton’s feelings are valid, but Brooke shouldn’t be held responsible for emotions Peyton repeatedly refuses to communicate. What bothers me most is that Brooke seems to be the only person consistently honest about what she wants, yet she’s somehow positioned as the bad friend. Meanwhile, Peyton expects an emotional understanding from Brooke that she doesn’t seem willing to give her in return.
