I feel you Mike. I was sooo upset when this shit aired.... I was actually so anxious watching your reactions to TWD for a few weeks now cause I knew this episode was getting closer and closer...i knew you would lose it and absolutely hate it, cause you like Beth so much. I loved her. So much. Poor Maggie. Like poor all of them. But also poor Daryl. She was one of the few people he was opening up to and building a stronger friendship and connection with.....it's extra sad to see Daryl like this :( Hershel, now Beth... :( Sadly this show loves to kill people left and right to keep up the high stakes (it sucks sooo much, but keeps it interesting and you are actually scared cause anyone could die at any time), just like Game of Thrones, but like argghhh WHYYY BETH

to make things worse AMC posted that shot of Daryl carrying out dead Beth with "rip beth" on ig and twitter etc right as the episode aired on the eastcoast, so not only spoiling them but everyone else in the world that still had to wait hours/days before release, everyone was double pissed it's such a sad and bullshit death.. right after developing her character and making you care about her more they kill her off 🫩 it 100% felt like they did it just for shockvalue like u said, its horrible

lmaaaoo seeing the smile on ur face after Tyreese got bit 😭 atleast u don't have to skip through his scenes anymore

The showrunner at the time Scott Gimple did this for shock value, completely unnecessary. Kinda like PLL, major plot points were done during the Season and Mid-Season premieres and finales as the show was airing to get ppl talking about the show during its off season time. That’s why starting with S4 when he took over we started getting more standalone character episodes with cliffhangers only to follow a different set of characters the next episode. He did this just to get people to keep coming back to see what happens. I guess which is the point but he did it repetitively enough that it became known as Gimple-telling in the fandom.

Beth was too pure for this world but I was still rooting for her so hard. Such a tough loss 😩😢😢

Beth's death felt incredibly meaningless and stupid... it's like they just wanted to shock us with a death, right after making us so attached to a character that we would be upset at her suddenly dying. I would have liked to see how the hospital arc changed her while isolated from the group, and would have made her after reuniting with them again. Her contributions, her potential, her strength. Kind of like how Carol had her whole arc into who she is now. And Beth dies before we get to see anything like that! That whole conversation with Daryl where she was like "I survived and you don't get it" and "you'll miss me so bad when I'm gone" just went straight to the trash because well we didn't get to see her surviving with the strength she gained nor die in valor. If she had a complete character arc and then died later in a more meaningful way, it would have made a lot more sense... like what was the point in making her stab Dawn, AND ALSO COMPLETELY MISS HER NECK IT JUST WENT INTO HER VEST. Nope

Beth dying HURTTTTTT and then Maggie coming all excited?? Nah the writers were dirty for tha

So they did the deaths of Tyrese and Beth back to back as a way of showing everyone that no one is safe at all during the seasons. It was crazy watching in real time. TWD knew how we would all react & I think it’s when everyone knew no episode was safe for any character 😭

Turn Up the Mike

It’s season 5. They’ve killed Shane, Andrea, HERSHEL. Those two little girls! Plus Lauri and T Dawg dying in the beginning of season 3 outta nowhere.. No way the writers thought we don’t know by now that no one is safe. That’s been made very clear already. They just wanted to shock ppl with this nut shit! That’s all!! 🤬
