Hey Wizards! Shady Character One here!
So it's time to look back at the results of the past year. This one was very eventful with a lot of real-life issues we had to deal with. So, did I accomplish all that I was planning for the game this year? No, I can say that with certainty. But there were also a lot of things we managed to add to the game that we were not planning a year ago.
The script grew by only about 50,000 words. This might be the size of a small novel, but it is not the pace that I was aiming for when I was setting goals for myself. The only solace I have is that I really picked up the pace after writing only about 15,000 words in the first eight months of 2025. Still, the game now has almost 120,000 words of script, which is nothing to scoff at.
Thankfully, writing events is not the only thing that I did this year. The inventory and the journal were added as well as the dressing room prototype. That last one was a major part of this year's development cycle, as those of you who read these blog entries regularly might have noticed, since I mention it multiple times. Which allows me to segue into the next section pretty smoothly.
The community grew immensely over the last twelve months, which is one of the greatest things that happened this year. And which is the one thing that gave us the greatest boost in motivation. A lot of people offered their help and support to the development effort. Some with money, which is always nice. Some with words of support and feedback. Some with their skills, which were invaluable in helping me rework parts of the code that were completely beyond my skill level, as well as improving the parts that were within my reach.
Shady Two, though she is always unsatisfied with her results, made tremendous progress this year too. Finishing more than a dozen artworks, on top of several backgrounds, sprites for new girls, teachers, and secondary characters. As well as drawing multiple new poses and outfits for already existing girls. All while also coming up with the interfaces for the inventory and journal.
None of that would be possible without the support from you—the people who enjoy the game and share your enthusiasm with us, making us want to push further and make a better game for all of you to enjoy.
I wish you all a Happy New Year, and I'll see you then.
Shady Character One, out!
