I managed to keep off the indiscriminate detailing! I only have one strip of detail, as it were - from the bow and Thorondor's wing across both their faces and down Maedhros' arm. I have often planned to do something like this, but I just always ended up adding darks here and there and here and oh there and oooo shiny!, but now it worked. <3

It's so beautiful! Fingon you brave, brave man. (Also poor Maedhros obviously, but I've always been more of a Fingon-fangirl :P)

I love the feel to this... it has that religious sculpture vibe to it, like an angel holding someone with their wings outspread

GhostOfThePast

This is gorgeous. <3 I really need to read the Silmarillion. Shame on me I havn’t yet.

Lisa Gerard

Gorgeous! And Evelyn has a point - it's reminiscent of religious sculpture, though my mind went to pietà rather than angels, despite Thorondor's wing.

Steven Tryon

Fingon in his glory and Meadhros, well, yes, Maedhros.

Ninchen

Beautiful. Is it just me or has his hair become a little less red since the earlier pictures?

Jenny Dolfen

It really depends on the scene and surroundings - here, I didn't want it redder than the blood, and it made sense to have it look slightly lustreless, I think.

Sommer Sorenson

Heart wrenchingly stunning! Ah, the emotions this makes one fell <3

Cynthia

I come back to see it over and over hihi

Bobbie Deniker

Absolutely fantastic. I see what you mean about the strip of detail and I think it's worked really well!

Augusta Vae

Lovely! I am now also imagining some Jim Henson-type goblin whose job it was to ride down the side of the mountain on a little scaffold and make sure to give Maedhros a haircut every so often. XD
