Every artist (it seems) is doing enamel pins right now - they seem to be totally the thing! I love enamel pins, I have a bag that weighs about a ton because of all those pins on it. The reason why I haven't done one yet is - I can't decide what I would do!

The most obvious thing would be a portrait/bust of a handsome red-haired guy, obviously, or maybe someone on a horse (though that seems pretty hard to do). Any thoughts? What would you like to see as a pin? It's one of those moments where I wish I had something like a mascot. Apart from my Mae-scot. ;)

I'm strangely addicted to acquiring enamel pins right now, so this is great timing! ;D I like all these previous suggestions, but I LOVE the idea of the trees. Maybe even just the fruits of the trees? Personally, I'm most drawn to simple representations: animals/creatures, objects, designs (like the aforementioned heraldry). I think I've only picked up one person/character pin so far, but there were magnolias involved in the design and how could I refuse magnolias?

I'd love a Feanorian collectable series!

I'm for everything that includes your Mae-scot! :) ... I'm not sure about the heraldry thing. Would you not risk being sued with this because of copyright infringement?

I'm not thinking about a series as yet - I'd have do do a standalone first, and see how it looked! As has been pointed out, obvious designs by others aren't doable. I feel more and more that Maedhros might be a way to go.

Character busts/portraits could work, though I'm no expert on copyrights so I couldn't say whether you'd be able to sell your own versions of others' characters. Heraldry is also a lovely idea, and perhaps various types of birds/forest creatures could make for some nice designs. I've also seen enameled coins from some artists, which might be better suited than pins to small scenes if you end up having stronger inspiration in that direction.

Yeah. Do something straightforward first and then experiment with branching out. (That I like the notion of a Maedhros pin may have something to do with it.)

I'd definitely buy a Maedhros pin

The handsome red-haired guy, please. I'd put it on my everyday backpack. ^^
