... you probably don't immediate associate thistles. This is what the fields behind our house look like right now - it's incredible. It almost feels like Provence (well, if you squint), and smells wonderful, too!

Let's do a slightly different prompt session to accompany the regular one! Whom could I paint into such a beautiful setting? I've been thinking of doing a piece on the Elves leaving Middle-earth for a while; I think having them ride through clouds of these would look incredible. Any other thoughts?

I agree, Sam and Rosie and the young ones would be great.

Jenny Dolfen

I just had another idea, a propos hobbits - considering the field was swarming with bees and bumblebees, the Dwarves, Bilbo and Gandalf approaching the house of Beorn? (Or maybe riding away from it, so I get to do ponies...)

Masa

You could do Yavanna creating them

Steven Tryon

For elves leaving Middle Earth I think of the somber colors of late autumn.

Liv Klein

I absolutely love thistles! If you feel like doing non-Tolkien, a Centaur would fit in wonderfully.

Ninchen

It looks unreal, as if the world is a bit over-orderly and yet wild. Maybe because the world's new? Maybe some very new elves under starlight in wild Middle-Earth could be meeting Orome in such a setting?

Litsen

Such a beautiful eyesight! I could totally picture some Elves among those flowers! What about Finrod? Maybe with his siblings? Or with Amarië? Or riding with Turgon?

Jeni Buechel

That is amazing and beautiful. The bees and other insects must love it!
