The Unexpected Party at Bilbo's house? Thirteen dwarves, a hobbit and a wizard should keep you plenty of busy ;)

Davina

something from Roverandom? Rover and Man in the Moon, maybe? (although gosh, I'd love to see your Fairy Queen from Smith of Wooton Major that Dina suggested)

Jenny Dolfen

Oh, that's all pretty obscure! I haven't read those books in more than twenty years and remember nothing of them, I'm afraid (and I can't reread them). Most things ought to be smallish and quick, since I doubt I will have a lot of time to do art while on holiday (my family usually doesn't let me!)

The Tolkien poem "Errantry" is full of small scenes if you want them. You can find it in the book "The Adventures of Tom Bombadil" or google it. I prefer the original version from 1933 :)

the fox observing three hobbits sleeping outside in the Shire

I'm re-reading The Silmarillion for the third time this year (having spent most of it reading and re-reading Tolkien stuff only, like the History of Middle Earth), and I've gotten awfully nostalgic. I was thinking... well, about Finwë and Míriel meeting in Mandos. When she says she was wrong to leave him and her son behind, and he decides to sacrifice himself so she can come back to life. Anything Finwë is moving me to tears right now. :.(

The new book "The Fall of Gondolin" is coming out at the end of the month, any chance of some characters from Gondolin?

Zane Libiete

Oh, yes, this is "Tolkien year" for me as well (I have a recurring Tolkien addiction since 2002, but perhaps here is a safe place to admit it 😁)! I am now reading the Unfinished tales, and there are some parts in the story of Tuor I really like, Tuor as he beholds the sea for the first time in the sunset, Tuor coming to abandoned Vinyamar, Tuor's meeting with Voronwë...

Alexis A Heit

The Last Unicorn and the Red Bull; when the unicorn challenges him after Lir is hit! She is staring at Lir and completely ignores the Bull. I'd love to see how you would paint that scene!! You have me rereading the book in anticipation of the new print arrival! Could you just paint the entire book? That's not too much to ask, right? lol

Alan Taylor

I am thinking like Zane ...I was thinking of the meeting of Tuor with Ulmo or an imagined meeting between Tuor and Idril.
