... But yes, well, it's more pin designs. ;)

I had a long day at school today and packed the wrong sketchbook - one that was full! So I ended up doodling these on the final page of it. It's the preliminary designs for Finrod, Lúthien, and Beren. (I'll still make those two interlock better.)

Today, I sent off the Kingfisher and open edition Maedhros to the second pin manufacturer. And am biting my nails waiting for the shipping confirmation of the first batch. I am also watching the number of people still joining up - and I'm glad I went for 200 pins after all!

Welcome to Bradamante, Farlong, and Katherine (just now!)

Stupid question! What does open ed vs. limited ed Maedhros look like?

Jenny Dolfen

The open edition Maedhros doesn't have the heraldic device, and his cloak is grey instead of teal. He also comes out slightly smaller.

I'm looking forward to seeing the final designs! I'm a bit curious about your choice of having the harp on his left shoulder though. Almost all modern harpists play on the right shoulder, but I think left shoulder was common for Irish and Welsh harps, particularly wire strung harps, until those traditions sort of died out several hundred years ago. Is that what you took inspiration from?

Jenny Dolfen

Oh! There are three possible replies to this: 1. Yes, of course that was all intentional. 2. Oh shit. I can never get away with inaccurate harpists now. 3. Whee! I have a real harpist among my Patrons! Help me! XD I'll just mirror the design, I think? ;)

Beren and Luthien, yes! (Glad to be with you!)
