Gimli and other sketchbook things (Patreon)

Welcome, Jennifer, Vivienne, and Emily! <3
I've been rather quiet - I was away on a class trip last weekend, which bound a lot of energy beforehand. My class hasn't been the easiest one these past three years and I was a little apprehensive of how it might go; in the end, the trip made up for a lot of the things of the past few years.
I tried around with Inktense watercolour in my sketchbook during the trip; they're like blocks of crayons, but with ink-based watercolour. They're said to be water-resistant on paper when dry, but that does sound too good to be true - of course they're not really.
I did a few calming, cool landscapes with them last Saturday, while sitting in an indoor trampoline park. my students were jumping, but I always like to be "on land" during those kinds of activities (and that totally is an excuse, yes). It was insanely loud, and insanely hot (36°C on Saturday).
Today, we had a training course at school, which is always a welcome excuse to break out the sketchbook as well. I'd just rewatched the Lord of the Rings, and I noticed again how Gimli is getting on my nerves. I think his only non-goofy moment is "She gave me three." PJ did a lot of things right with Fellowship, but the things he did not get right were painful foreshadowings to the Hobbit.
So I re-imagined my own Gimli. The background was done with Inktense paints, but I soon noticed that they turned out rather chalky in the earth tones, so I went for watercolour. (Yes, when we have an education day at school, I bring a fully operational selection of art materials to choose from.)
Some more gilded Galadriel prints are coming soon, for those who missed them!
