"Beware the masked swamp owl!" Dormouse parents tell their children. "If she catches you, she eats you whole and spits out your bare white bones, which will forever haunt the marshlands!"

Indeed, infestations of undead are most often found near the nests of the short-eared owl, terrorising the local dormouse dwellings. This was the main reason why the Order of the Sacred Hazelnut came into being, whose clerics use the benign powers granted by the Deity to turn the undead, and grant them rest.

(The short-eared owl indeed does not digest bones as much as other owls do, which is why their prey's skeletons are often found eerily intact in their pellets. Yes, I am researching owl digestion now.)

This will make a lovely set of prints, once you have them all! Will you be making a group-shot "dungeon party" picture, as well?

Jenny Dolfen

I have no idea what I'll do with them, yet! ;) Though the Cleric's story is by far the most promising.

I just love this series of adventurous Dormice! And not just because I'm an old-school D&D player :)

Thank God for hazelnuts. The dungeon party is a must. These would work well on the wall as a cluster of 4x6 or 5x7 prints.
