Rebecca made me go back to this one and get some *real* reference for the feathers. So I ordered white feathers from amazon and actually crafted part of a feather cloak (on foam rubber) and photographed it in the light I needed. It did absolute miracles for those feathers! I definitely need to accept that good reference takes you further than anything else.... And it kept the kittens absolutely bonkers for the rest of the day, always trying to make off with the feathers (and sidling off with them under the bed when I wasn't looking).

Oh oh, kittens and feathers. ;) Loki, look out! Really looks good already, can't wait to see the finished picture! :D

Those feathers are rather good. And Loki has exactly the sort of fractured brilliance I imagine him to have. You're doing him red, I take it?

I'm totally torn on colours. Red - because he's associated with it, but that's because Wagner mixed him up with the fire giant Loge. Blue - for his flightly, airy nature (and his name means exactly that). Brown/grey - because the cloak is made of falcon's feathers, but that totally doesn't cut it...

Eyes the colour of electric lightning. Skin so white it's blue-toned. Fiercely-redgold hair.

Is he described like that? Where? I have to admit my Norse mythology is fairly sketchy :)

Freyalyn

He is described as being redheaded, along with Judas Iscariot and anyone considered a bit outre or bad. The blue eyes etc are my own mental image of him. Pity everyone's so caught up with the HIddlestone version.
