I have to say, I'm a bit relieved that you're not going to watch the entire original series before getting to the reboot. I've never seen the other 4 movies in the original series, but I've heard they're not as good as this one. I would say that the 2001 remake is worth checking out at some point only because it's directed by Tim Burton, but I know you didn't love Burton's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory".

I love this one the most, and the one that came after Burton'ns version. I believe it's Rise of the Planet of the Apes. One of the few i actually own, lol. Besides the one you are watching.

"Did the apes take over while he was in space?" Dang, Eric! You guessed one of the most surprising cinema twists, in like 5 seconds, lol.

xD And then I almost immediately dismissed it cuz of the dialogue

Well, there's no rush. You can take your time on that one. I'm not saying that because it's bad or anything, I'm just not anxiously awaiting your reaction to it. Actually, right now, I am anxiously awaiting your reaction to "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire". I think you're going to love it.

I've heard bad things about it but I heard bad things about Afterlife and I loved that xD

I just started watching your reaction and OH MY GOD I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DIDN'T KNOW THE TWIST. I'd say it's probably a top three when it comes to most well-known movie twists, along with Vader being Luke's father and... another one I'm not gonna mention because I'm not sure if you know about it. I think I'm gonna enjoy this. 😂
