One of my favorite things about this episode is also subtle, and some people might think it's an error, but it's intentional: Luz tends to remember things as worse than they actually were. What Camila said at the end of Yesterday's Lie: "When you come home, promise you'll stay here. I didn't mean to push you away. I swear things will be different. Promise me, Luz... please!" How Luz remembers it in this episode: "Promise me. When you come home, you'll stay with me, and you'll never go back to that place. Please!" This isn't the first time we'll see this happen.

I think the bit about Hexside being the safest place is a jab at how in Harry Potter they always say Hogwarts is the safest place when it very clearly is a dangerous place. xD
