What a pleasant surprise, I thought the HD movie was coming out on October

awktopus

Oh i’m so excited! One of my favourite movies in quite a while. What a wonderful surprise!

Raffaele Calvia

I never cared about DC, I don't hate it I think some of their stories are amazing, but it's just not very appealing to me. I really don't care about James Gunn because I think he is... very problematic, it's why I never really cared about GoG part of the MCU. But damn wasn't this movie a great experience! If we compare it with the F4 movie it's a thousand times better, the MCU really fell far behind... Great reaction, great movie. Thanks, Eric!

How is Gunn problematic? Besides those stupid jokes he made like 15 years ago.

I have to watch the reaction yet, but I can't wait to say this might be the time for you to finally react to Gunn's The Suicide Squad (and, if you're in the mood, the Peacemaker show, whose second season is coming out next week). 😁

Ok, now that I have watched the reaction, a few things: - The DCU technically started with Creature Commandos, but Gunn has said that not everything is going to be as interconnected as in the MCU so you don't need to watch it (it's pretty fun though). - A slight connection between Creature Commandos and the Superman movie is the character of Rick Flag Sr., portrayed by Frank Grillo (Crossbones in the MCU), who's the main character in Creature Commandos. He's also the father of the Rick Flag who appeared in Suicide Squad, who is also in Gunn's The Suicide Squad. - Speaking of which: The Suicide Squad and the Peacemaker show are a bit muddy regarding if they are canon to the DCU or not. Some things need to be retconned for them to make sense, but Gunn is going to save as much as he wants from those (and Peacemaker Season 2 will be an official part of the DCU). Again, I invite you to watch them since they are REALLY good. (Also, I think you'll like what The Suicide Squad has to say politically-wise.)

I'm glad there's not as much interconnectivity cuz it did eventually get overwhelming to try to follow everything in the MCU. Kind of curious about Suicide Squad and Peacemaker but would have to find time for them!

I mean, did Cal El's parents lie? Humans are simple and confused. But I still do not believe that anyone can flawlessly translate a message from an alien race they have never personally studied or interacted with. There is so much more to translating a foreign language that can have an impact on the actual meaning of a phrase. I dont care what others say, I loved this movie! Hoult was the 2nd best portrayal of my favorite Superman character after Rosenbaum from the tv show Smallville, and Corenswet actually made me like the character of Clark/Superman for the first time ever! Then we have Hawkgirl who is one of my favorite DC characters, and I absolutely loved the scene where she just dropped Netanyahu, I mean Ghurkos, to his death (which that would happen in real life). But the MVP would have to be Mr Terrific, and I love his scene on the secret military base, its my 2nd favorite of the movie!
