While I agree with you (and a lot of people) on the secondary characters of this movie being somewhat more forgettable than in the previous ones, I appreciated two things about this cast of suspects: 1. I felt they were more different to each other. In Knives Out and Glass Onion most suspects had very similar motivations (even through both movies, since they were all characters mainly worried about money); while in this one it felt like they had more personal stakes. 2. The previous thing also made me able to empathize with some of the characters (mainly the women and especially Cailee Spaeny's character); while in the first two pretty much everybody was too unlikable for that (I'd say probably Jessica Henwick and Madelyn Cline's characters in Glass Onion were the only exceptions, and still they were less prominent characters). On an unrelated note, I think I've already recommended this to you at some point, but you should give a chance to Poker Face (the show produced by Rian Johnson and starring Natasha Lyonne) if you ever have the time. Mystery-wise is pretty different from the Knives Out movies since it's a "howcatchem" and not a "whodunnit" (you know the killer from the prologue of each episode, although I think finding out who kills who and how in those first minutes is also part of the fun), but it's very similar to Knives Out in its "human element".

Could be pretty good! I liked Natasha Lyonne in that SWEET BIRTHDAY BABY show from a couple years ago lol

Oh god I love Russian Doll so much, that first season was AMAZING! Never cared much for the second season tho...
