The GPS Update is ready. Here's what's new in 1.6.0.

1. Interactive Maps and routes

Drag and zoom the map, pick a destination from the list or tap a road, then follow a route using BeamNG's built-in navigation. Destinations are sorted by distance. A pin marks where the route ends, the route updates as you drive, and BeamNG recalculates it if you go off course. Recentering is smoother, with more of the road ahead visible while the map follows the car.

2. Clearer map visuals

Roads are darker, water is easier to spot, and the blue route is easier to read at different zoom levels. The car marker is larger, and the speed indicator is 30% bigger.

3. Dashboard and Settings

The map and music dashboard remembers the view you last used. Tap the dashboard map to open Maps. Settings now has larger text and shorter labels, plus metric and imperial units and a switch for BeamNG's 3D route markers. The empty Music screen has been redesigned to match the rest of CarLink.

4. A new Windows helper

The helper now runs in the system tray without a console window. Its menu lets you check the connection, change the BeamNG user folder, reconnect, and choose whether it starts with Windows. The required .NET runtime is included.

Requirements

CarLink works with vehicles equipped with a BeamNavigator screen. Compatibility depends on the vehicle's screen material and BeamNG version. The helper requires 64-bit Windows 10 version 1809 or later, or Windows 11. Maps and routes work without the helper. Music display and controls require the helper and a compatible Windows media session.

Mouse

probably the best update yet. Only small complaint is it does not work with modded cameras, but other than that its perfect. ❤️

Mod seems to break in career mode. Unfortunate since it works well in freeroam without traffic.

Pedrinn Works

Hi! I’ll take a look at the things you mentioned. The camera issue is related to how I calculate the touchscreen input. I cast a ray from the camera through the mouse position on the screen, so the calculation currently depends on the default first-person camera reference. I wasn’t aware of the career mode issue, so I’ll investigate it and will probably release as soon as possible. Thank you for your support and feedback!

The camera makes sense, and I can understand if it'd be too complicated or unreasonable to change. The other issue seems to primarily be caused by traffic, in both career and freeroam resulting in the screens functions not to work or lag heavily. Can't wait to use the mod once it's fixed. ❤️
