Loki is a very complicated character, especially because he hides pretty much all of his emotions even from the audience, haha. Frigga's death was a glimpse of his true self. He was very close to her, and she taught him everything he knows, while Odin more so kept his distance due to keeping Loki's heritage a secret. The reveal of him being a Frost Giant really scrambled his sense of worth and purpose. His development is a fun story to follow through the MCU!
