If I've learned anything from mecha scifi, it's that you need to kill your enemies. Because most mecha settings have cyborg tech. And the last thing you want is some maniac with nothing to lose going full nine-ball seraph, wiring his brain into a giant metal death machine, and beating your ass into an impromptu Picasso style street painting.
