CiaoCara

Joannasaurus rex

Passenger Seat is my partner and I's song ❤️

Lyndsey sanders

Apparently the band took thier name from a song entitled “death cab for cutie” written and preformed by a band who calls themselves “bonzo dog doo dah”

Bridie

“Welcome older emos” Me at 20 years old: I am old emo now ig

CiaoCara

Title and Registration is so peak 😭

Sadie

Passenger Seat is my favorite song of all time. Captures the PNW so well.

theeshadowrealm

You should listen to Pierce the Veil’s Selfish Machines album!

Hannah Johnson

They usually open with The New Year on tour even to this day because it's such a banger. As others in chat said, I'd love to see a Plans reaction someday.

Spinelli

Wait wait before Plans I highly recommend Give Up by the Postal Service. Different sound but Ben wrote/worked on both around the same time

Kendra Curnett

We’re ONE STEP closer to getting him to listen to Feel Something by movements 😭😭😭😭😭😭

Maggie

Okay the layer with Expo ‘86 that I think might not have been touched on is this sense that Ben/the protagonist is just another guy in this girl’s lineup, waiting his turn for her to get bored with the other guys and return to him. And then when she gets bored with him, he just jumps back in line, so there’s also this tug of war between a suffering self worth and also this belief that he’s the right guy for her/he’s better than these other guys that he can’t remember the names of. And it hurts, but if he chooses not to get back in line, he loses (her).

Maggie

This is SUCH a core album, I’m so glad you listened to this one!!

Nuria Cruz

Troyyyyy omg i've loved this album since i discovered it in high school!! i enjoyed your reaction sm, thank you for listening to this gem :'((

Gabe

You would really love the Postal Service.

Evelyn Smith

POSTAL SERVICE. Absolute perfect album. They created the album sending music through the postal service.

Robyn Hannaford

I was lucky enough in 2023 to go to the 20th anniversary tour of Death Cab's Transatlanticism and The Postal Service's Give Up (also recommend) at Madison Square Garden where they played both albums front-to-back. It was the only time I've ever cried at a concert - going from the song Transatlanticism into Passenger Seat was incredibly moving. I've been a fan since middle school and while I might not listen to Death Cab much in my daily routine, their music still has such a emotional resonance with me that they'll always be my favourite band <3

Sophie Warren-Blades

Seeing this album played in its entirety back to front was a spiritual experience.

Robyn Hannaford

Of course I recommend Death Cab's Plans album (my favourite), but would also recommend 2015's Kintsugi, which is Ben Gibbard's breakup album about Zooey Deschanel, basically implying that she became a completely different person after she got famous on New Girl, which led to their divorce. It's super interesting and well written.

Ally Riot

One of my fav bands i dont know anyone in person who knows them

Michelle Rodriguez

Elder emo here! So glad to see this pop up. If you liked this one, it's worth listening to their next album, Plans, and jumping into the Postal Service. And if you want to get into some lore of that music era, I say check out Rilo Kiley/Jenny Lewis.

Emma Finch

I saw them in Boise on the 20th anniversary tour it was such a cool show and I cried a ton lol but so worth it

Chiara Dona

One of my fave albums!! If Troy ever does Postal Service I will lose it 😭

fee 👺

title and registration was the first DCFC song i ever heard at 13 when it released and i was hooked forever. living vicariously through your first reaction to it legit made me tear up in the best way 😭🫶

Amee

OMG! This made my week! Death cab is like Taylor Swift, it’s impossible to pick a “favorite” or “ best song” But Passenger seat is usually my answer to that question. This album, Plans and Narrow Stairs are perfection! If you’re going over old emo albums please I beg you to listen to Brand News album “Deja Entendu”

Maggie Chamberlin

As an elder millennial from the PNW, watching you experience this album brings me immense joy. Please do The Photo Album, I beg 🙏🏻

Nya Grant

Can u react to “to dry a tear” from khamari he’s so good trust

Emery Bourgon

Omg love this album, I went to the University that lead singer and bassist went to when they formed the band! They came back to perform for the Uni when I was there and it was so fun!

Tori Kauffman

I honestly gasped when I saw you listened to Death Cab! True millennial text, one of my top favorite bands, and such a big part of my high school years. Thanks for the nostalgia ride!

Sarah

STOP THIS IS SO IMPORTANT TO ME I AM SCREAMING

Sarah

I saw them in Michigan and cried during the exact same transition. Truly an out-of-body experience

Sarah

My AIM screen name was: passengr seatt 🖤

Sarah

Ashley Toaddy

Second on Postal Service also, if you have never checked out Rilo Kiley, I would love your reaction.

Clay Williams

Please if you haven't done one before give us a JP Sax, or a Melanie Martinez stream!

K8kat

Please please I'M BEGGING you to listen to this tiny desk... somehow the songs hit even harder. So beautiful. I especially love the live version of "Passenger Seat" but they're all incredible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mi6uRT7PxTQ Tiny Desk Setlist: "Black Sun" 0:07 "No Room In Frame" 5:13 "Your Heart Is An Empty Room" 9:23 "Passenger Seat" 14:00

Leif Eyers

I requested this in the discord 2 years ago, so glad you finally gave it a listen. I'm sad that I missed the stream though! You really should check out The Postal Service, its more Ben Gibbard from 2003 and so good.

Cheryl

this song makes me cry my eyes out 😭😭

Cheryl

Best album of all time? Say Anything...Is A Real Boy 🙌🏼

Mikki W

Would love to see you listen to Adrienne Lenker or Big Thief

Julia Bortscheller

I was also there! Transatlanticism was my album in high school and that concert was magnificent. Madison Square Garden made it feel even more grand

Declan Cannon

PLEASE DO PLANS oh my god you will sob. please. Transatlaticism is my favorite album of theirs, but plans truly changed my life. get ready for tears though, just a warning

Sarah

Gosh I love Death Cab! Narrow Stairs is my fave album

Rainen

Postal Service - Give Up next please (:

Stephi

omggggggg this album is so perfect. was a no skip in the 2000's and still holds up as a no skip now. I still have the CD in my bedroom. I wish I had my red discman to listen.

Kyli

This album got me through the death of my mom. Transatlanticism described the loss and forever separation from her more than any other song could… this whole stream has me sobbing 😭

Samantha Ellis

It was my wedding dance song ❤️❤️ we used to drive around the back roads and listen to albums in our youth so it hits close to home.

Samantha Ellis

I saw them tour this record in 2004, it was the peak of my senior year. Best to listen to while laying on the floor. And yes to Plans next but also go back to The Photo Album.

Paul

You need to react to the Postal Service album!

Brittany W

This is one of my all-time favorite top to bottom albums - what a joy to watch someone listen to it for the first time. Hit me right in the heart.

teddyberr

you reacting to this album is literally a dream come true

Tahlia Waters

I literally just found this album a few months ago and was obsessed. Re-joined your patreon and you've reacted to it 🙌🙌🙌❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
