No one understands the lonely perfection of my dreams. I found perfection here. I've created it. A perfect organism.-David 8

Happy December, my pretties!

Unlike previous months, I don't have a solid plan for what's coming this month. My current order queues (both Fiverr and Patreon) are so full that I'll be constantly busy right up until the 25th, and then busier still just after.

So today I'm doing something a little more free form and sharing some ideas I've had regarding a mini-setting for the ALIEN RPG, with kinky expansion ideas included (naturally).

"It's an ugly planet. A bug planet."

In the bit of free time I made for myself this weekend, I read through my copy of the new ALIEN RPG Core Rules Evolved Edition that I got from the Kickstarter.

While I like the original core rulebook better, there's a few new additions that've been made that are a lot of fun: Lifepath character creation, Solo play rules for dorks like me, some new content from ALIEN ROMULUS, and notably a new star system description for one possible xenomorph hive world.

This little section of the book is clearly inspired by the Dark Horse Aliens comics from the 90's, of which I was an avid reader of when I was a kid. It's specifically draws inspiration from the four issue series Aliens: Genocide, which is one of my all time favorites.

It's set in the aftermath of the alien hiveworld being nuked, killing its Empress...which leads to a schism in the biology of the xenomorphs, creating two rival queen mothers: one black, and one red.

Amid this war between the aliens is a mission to the hiveworld to collect xenomorph queen royal jelly, a substance capable of creating enormous genetic change in living creatures, and also the main ingredient in NeoPharm's wonder drug 'Xeno Zip'.

Of course, I've written a great deal about xenomorph royal jelly. I have a lengthy two-part story called Xenojelly based around a lone prisoner's exposure to the stuff (which I'm realizing ought to be codified into Fanfiction Friday entries for you all).

It's also featured heavily in the game I played in (ALIEN: Fit For A Queen).

Thinking over this new addition to the ALIEN RPG world and my fondness for its inspiration, I've been slowly putting together the threads of what I'd like to be a mini campaign scenario for the game.

One with extremely expansive outcomes.

Not Just Another Bug Hunt

Intercepted Lasalle Bionational Memorandum - Princep 034209XX - Exec Eyes Only

As per Daniella Grant's instruction, a retrofitted scientific exploration vessel has been sent beyond the 20 parsec limit to Achilles 2.4. The crew is made up of ex-military, scientists, and a specialized maintenance team and flight team, along with an attaché of Bionational execs to oversee the mission.

Mission parameters are threefold:

Locate a source of the XX121 royal jelly.

Retrieve and return with a surplus of XX121 royal jelly.

Identify the source of the repeating signal.

In this mini campaign, each player begins play with a debt or obligation; a reason to keep their eyes on the money and incentive to risk it all to earn as much as possible, with every outing into the hiveworld promising a substantial cash bonus for any of the following returned back tot he ship:

Royal jelly samples

Useful technology and salvage

Profitable data and information

This mini campaign would take player characters to the furthest reaches of space to an extremely inhospitable planet that no nation or megacorporation has successfully colonized in over 100 years of extrasolar colonization. It's considered a death world.

Players will land in the middle of a war between the aliens.

Along with their stated mission, there are various locations and points of interest to explore to gather any of the three profitable resources listed above:

The Black Hive. A giant xenomorph hive complex built around an ancient Engineer building. This is the most dangerous location on the planet, but also holds the most amount of alien royal jelly and ancient alien secrets. There's also evidence of humans, or something that looks like humans, skulking about the hive, as if working with the aliens!

The Red Hive. A smaller but no less dangerous hive, it's the birthplace of the variant 'red xenomorphs'. A bio-organic structure in the middle of a desert basin, it's home to a variety of strange xenomorph offshoot species. While it's a good place to find royal jelly, the scientific data to be found here is possibly of greater importance (if you're some kind of nerd).

Crashed UPP Kremlin. A gigantic capital ship belonging to the space communists of the Frontier, the ship is emitting an SOS signal but there are no signs of life on scanners. The Union Of Progressive Peoples learned of the alien hiveworld decades ago, but their attempts to exploit it failed. A solid place to scavenge for tech, salvage, and supplies, along with a lot of political secrets.

Abandoned Weyland Yutani Base. The foremost megacorporation did their best to establish a permanent foothold on hiveworld, but it failed like every other attempt. This base still has minimal power, and might be a great place to scavenge. Early recon shows that a few androids might still be operational and acting as stewards to the crumbling facility.

Crashed Ship. A blacksite prison transport whose only identifying info listed is its last port of call: a Weyland Yutani blacksite called Ambrosia Station.

Big Things Have Small Beginnings

This is mostly what I have written down so far, my pretties. I'm slowly expanding out on this idea to see where it takes me, and what form this game could take.

I have a lot of lofty ambitions for it, but very little time to commit to it.

If I can flesh it out enough, I might try to run one of my kinky play groups through it, if they're willing to play more ALIEN. If not, it might be something I turn towards you all, my beloved Patrons.

Only time will tell.

Miss Indulgence

I originally shared this mostly because I wanted to get it out of my head and onto the site, making it real, after a fashion. But the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of using this mini setting as a kind of ersatz group campaign for all of you, my patrons. I'll likely have more concrete details fleshed out soon, but I think it might be cool if any patron who wants to can put forward an OC of theirs in the comments, and said OC becomes a character inside this game. Once or twice a month all of these characters will be divided up into exploration parties, sent out into the world, and through dice rolls and random chance, they'll either return back to base successfully...or get captured or eaten by aliens. One fun aspect of the game would be how fattening each mission becomes, with characters getting bigger and fatter over time. Of course, the higher your tier of support, the more well off your characters starts out in the game. Just an idea~

Lowkey, I'd love to listen to a bellies and beholders for a game of ALIEN. Feels so much more intense when you're listening to my rather than just reading
