1. Introduction

"Character Development" was the winning category in the Behind-The-Scenes poll. So, as promised - I now present you with my first ever analysis of one of the characters in my stories! After having won the poll of “most liked lead female character”, as well as individual requests from some of you, Abby seems to be a crowd favorite. And I get it, who doesn't like a cute, super busty, super sweet, beautiful girl who only gets bustier with time? So, I’m going to break down how and why Abby's character came to life, talk about her goals and motivations, her personality and her overall arc, as well as some of the dilemmas, struggles and choices I made when writing her character. Hope you'll enjoy! 🙂

2. Character Origin

Abby Hartman is the lead character in the story Band Practice, which was the first story I’d ever written. I’m humbled and grateful to say it also seems to be the story readers liked the most throughout the years so far. This fact can’t be separated from the character of Abby.Abby came, first and foremost, as a counterpart for Scott. Scott was a shy guy who’s always been afraid of girls. Abby had to come along as someone who would force him out of his shell and facilitate his growth. I needed a girl who was not only beautiful and busty, but also had a delicate combination of qualities such as positivity, assertiveness and compassion, in order to give Scott the tough-love he needed, and compel him to face and conquer his fears.

3. Core Concept

As they say in Google Scholar - “I stand on the shoulders of giants” (or something like that). One of the biggest giants I’d always admired was Steve Palmer, my idol, whose stories I (like many of you, I’m sure) grew up gobbling up like candy. He was particularly known for writing stories that included comparisons between several female characters, often sisters.I always found those comparisons the sexiest thing ever - seeing a busty girl who you think is going to be the busty girl of the story, only to later realize there’s an even bustier girl lurking in the shadows.Abby was just that. To any sane person in the “normal world,” a girl with bodily dimensions like hers (a 32T-cup, for those devoted followers here) would be considered gigantic beyond reason. So I thought, hey, that’s a sexy size. But what if instead of this size being the biggest reference point in the story, it would be the starting point? That would make the story (hopefully) even sexier. Hence, Abby’s sisters came to fruition. However, this size difference served another purpose. Because Abby was the smallest of them all, she could develop as the story progressed - both physically but also mentally as a character. She was a girl living in the shadows of her sisters. It didn’t matter that to the outside world she was extremely endowed. In their household, the scale had shifted completely due to her sisters’ even-larger busts that were always around her as a constant reminder she’s physically inferior to them.

Jealousy and resentment were a nagging part of Abby's being. Then, as she grew bustier, surpassing all of them, so did her own confidence and sexuality grow, evolving her into the feminine goddess she’s become three years later. I don’t know if it’s felt enough (let me know what you think), but I wanted to believe her jealousy slowly shifted towards pure love and compassion for her sisters as she grew bigger. I didn’t want her growth to turn into a vendetta against them, but instead allow her to finally be peaceful with who she was.

And speaking of sizes and giants, another great author who immensely influened my style of writing was Richard O' Steele, of course. Knowing I'm gonna get to extreme sizes, I knew I was going to need a reliable system to showcase them as accurately as possible. Since Abby and her sisters grew past the Z-cup range, the only logical thing to do was go another time around the alphabet (and another, and another...). Steele's stories were the first and almost exclusively the ones using this multiple Z's system.

I always found that so erotic and sexy, and felt this was the perfect way to describe such insane sizes. True, Steele usually did only a single lap around the alphabet, and I might have gone a bit crazier than that, but I mean... I'm a true fanatic for numbers and crazy bra sizes. So Abby was the first to use that system, but if you've read my other stories you know she certainly wasn't the last... 😁

4. Personality & Voice

Abby is a fun, upbeat, positive, assertive, slightly dorky kind of girl. Despite her being what some people would call a 12/10 girl in terms of how she looks, she didn’t let it go to her head. Maybe it was because of her gorgeous, even bustier sisters, who sort of gave her some balance and reference. She gives Scott a chance, some might say a lot more chance than most shy guys like Scott would get. But she’s a girl who’s willing and happy to “look underneath the hood” and feels early on that Scott is a gem just waiting to shine, and has the patience and compassion to lead him to this point. Along the way, she discovers how much she herself is attracted to his so-called “negative” qualities — his shyness, dorkiness and vulnerability — and is determined to be the one who shares that path with him.Abby’s main goal was to find her own light, and become an entity that was not shadowed by her sisters. I actually spiked a little bit of myself into that: I have a sibling that is an extremely successful and accomplished person. While I’m proud of that sibling and love them with all my heart, I also always felt a deep sense early on to “go on my own path,” instead of trying to mimic theirs. I hope I managed to transfer that deep need to Abby to have her own identity. She doesn’t let her figure hold her back. It’s not a huge point in the story, but you can see it when Scott and Abby go to the movies, everyone stares at her and she just lifts her head high and focuses on having fun with Scott, ignoring the rest of the world. The biggest setback and testing point of her personality is the accident, of course. Scott rushes to save her from the car of a drunk driver and takes the beating instead of her. With three whole years of Scott being in a coma, Abby is faced with the biggest challenge of her life. Should she stay and wait for the guy who saved her life, not knowing if he’ll ever wake up, or should she move on with her life, carrying a constant sense of guilt with her for not sticking around for him?The story sort of intentionally skips over all that inner turmoil and lets those questions hang in the reader’s mind to figure out for themselves. I felt that delving into her inner conflict would slow down the story dramatically and would also be too “on the nose”, meaning - I’d explicitly tell the readers what her options and emotions are, instead of letting them figure that out themselves. Generally, if the main point I’m trying to make can be inferred through indirect cues - I prefer it this way.Eventually, we discover that Abby has been waiting for Scott all along. I know this is a very Hollywood ending, but I’m a real sucker for it, and I guess there’s a reason it works. I would've just been devastated to write Abby moving on with her life and letting Scott wake up after three years, discovering the love of his life has moved on. Plus, three years of waiting for the greatest sex of your life? I mean… come on! All that pent-up sexual energy? It was bound to happen 🙂

5. Behind-the-Scenes Choices

I wrote it before, but for those who don’t know - I initially planned to end the story with Momma Katherine revealed, wheeling from their kitchen into the dining room and blowing Scott’s mind. A simple, cute, sexy story. However, as I started posting the first chapter, then the second, then the third, more and more comments reeled in asking me, “what comes next?” And the more I neared that point in the writing, the more I realized there was more to this story. That’s where the real fun started. Because the outline I had stopped right there, at the dining room table. From there on, I had to discover the rest of the story myself. Since it was my first time writing anything, I didn’t know what to expect, but I discovered that the storyline sort of guided me on its own accord.I’m happy I trusted the process enough to keep writing without fully knowing where it was going to end. By doing this, I discovered a deeper layer of Abby, as she pushed Scott to be his true self, and was tested as a person through the accident, coming out stronger and more whole on the other side. This was such a fun process for me that I’ll always cherish. More broadly, I discovered that characters can have more complexities. That they can have personalities beyond being just a walking pair of tits, and that I actually like writing this way.By making Abby (and Scott) more complex and developing their arc, I not only felt more connected to them, but also enjoyed the sexual parts of their journey more. I think that if the same sex scene at the end were to happen between a one-dimensional, busty bimbo with zero personality traits and some random faceless guy, I wouldn’t have enjoyed it nearly as much.So point blank - Abby (and Scott) were the characters who helped me develop my style of writing. I also learned that I like planning to some degree, but leaving a large wiggle room for discovery as the writing continues (but on that I’ll expand more in another post, if you’re interested).

6. Personal Favorites

There are several moments I especially liked with Abby’s story. One of them is Scott finding out Ellie’s bra and realizing it’s not Abby’s, but a bigger size. If you know me, you know I have a pathological fetish towards bra sizes. I’m sorry to admit it was fun “abusing” Abby a little bit, making her have to blurt out how Ellie is younger yet still bustier than herself.Another scene, of course, is when Scott finally returns from the hospital - meeting each of her sisters and looking frantically for Abby, only for the sea of boobs to part in two and reveal Abby’s expanded self standing there before him. This was the ultimate contrast scene which, at least for me, was one of the sexiest in the story.

7. Summary

Abby was my first - for better or for worse. I wasn’t as experienced back then as a writer, and maybe I would’ve done some things differently now. But on the other hand, it was so much fun writing her, discovering her personality and story, and in general understanding how I want to write my stories.*

That was my take on Abby's character, I hope you guys enjoyed this and found it fun to read. I’m really curious if you experienced something similar or different than myself while reading Band Practice, and what your thoughts about her character were. Would you have done something differently? Expanded on something? Cut something back? What did you think of her arc in general? Let me know in the comments. Also, I'd love to know if you’ve enjoyed this Character Development analysis, if you have any suggestions for future analyses, and if there are more characters you’d like me to write something similar about.Thank you so much for your support and engagement so far. I’m having so much fun managing this page and hope you it's fun for you too.Love,Commandlz

To my surprise, I really enjoyed reading this character explanation. I didn't think I would, but it's very well written. I agee that "Generally, if the main point I’m trying to make can be inferred through indirect cues - I prefer it this way." And I think the Band Practice story is an amazing first publication. In fact I liked it much better than Night Train so far. I wonder if perhaps using AI even partially has stunted your creativity and perhaps you should reconsider that practice? Just an opinion though. Keep up the great work.

I hit send too soon on the comment from me. I wanted to be sure you know who I am -- on DA I am known as SexyFlexyLexi. OK.

It's always a real pleasure to read what you write, even in explanations, behind the scenes, etc. Thanks for sharing! PS: The cap system (Z) & co. should even be standardized... Because X124dE caps are stupid. 1/ Would you have done anything differently? → That's too metaphysical a question. The only way to know is to look at other parallel worlds where you wrote Band Practice to see if it's different or not. 2/ Would you have developed anything? → Maybe added a little bit of background to the lovers, but honestly, it's already very good as it is. Since it was your first story, it's already excellent. 3/ Would you have cut anything? → Definitely not the size of the breasts *laughter from the audience*. Even though it's just my opinion (tastes and colors), I find the sex scenes too long. I much prefer the erotic side that stimulates the imagination. 4/ What did you think of the story in general? → I devour Band Practice like candy, so my fanatic point of view is biased from the start. It's the best BE story in the universe...

Another reader of Richard O Steele’s stories! His stories always had a great buildup, descriptions, and sex scenes, although I usually found either the scenarios or characters distasteful (his magnum opus Thy Neighbors Wife is about a rich guy who continually cheats on his wife). So many of his stories are about WASPs who already have it all getting even more.

Also, I’m Clownboatda on DA

I dont think its the ai that makes it feel thst way but more the style of story that night train is. Its more of a fast and beat to beat story then the slower burn and build up of band practice

Thank you both for your feedbacks on this, I appreciate it! Honestly, you're both right in my opinion. The experimental stories are, as their name suggests - experimental. It means I have an idea and I run with it. It's usually just a sexy idea that came to my mind that I have a strong urge to just explore and allow myself more speed to get to the "juicy stuff". And that's also why I'm using AI in these stories, since it's a good tool to throw my ideas on it, and allow it to formulate what's already in my brain. This is opposed to the "Regular" stories like Band Practice where I'm meticulously building the story, thinking of every angle, personal growth of characters and so on, and there's more slow burn. The upside is that I can write fast and it's easier, of course. The downside is that without the buildup and character growths, the characters are less relatable and it's more of a quick gratification instead of a more deep, epic pleasure from an intense, long buildup. In any case, I'm currently working on my next "Regular" story (btw if you have a better name for regular vs. experimental stories let me know). It's way more meticulously built with a lot more richness and careful word selection. Update coming soon hopefully

Oh don't worry I recognize you from DA, SexyFlexyLexy 😁 so good to see you here as well

Jesus wow that was awesome to read 😃😃 Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! I agree with everything you wrote. I'm always super critical of my work (like any "suffering artist" 😅). In hindsight - I'd develop more backstory to the characters. And yes, sex scenes have always been my weak spot. I tried working on it in the following stories, but in general, it always feels like the sexiest parts are the sexual tension before the sex than the actual sex. But you need the sex for the... final release 😁 Thanks a lot 🙏

Commandlz‬‏

Thank you for your comment! 🙏 Yeah that's a really good point. Yeah these wasps sting 😋 Seriously though, as any writer, he had his strengths and he had his weaknesses. I feel like his overall style gave me so much ground to stand on and develop my own style. I try taking the elements of writing that I like from many many writers, and maybe leave out the elements I don't relate to. Thy neighbor's wife was really a Magnum Opus, but it had its downsides, yeah... Though the guy there did feel bad for what he's doing, he just couldn't bring himself to stop, which is a nice character flaw... Anyway, thanks for that, I love these discussions with readers so much. Great to see you here too, Clownboatda 😃
