π ACTIVATION EXERCISE 5: Learning Your Own Signal (Patreon)
Content
Your body's been trying to tell you something for years.
You called it instinct. You called it a hunch. When you were embarrassed by how much you trusted it, you called it nothing, and you moved on.
And every time you overrode it, something learned to stay quiet. This exercise is about turning that volume back up.
Sit with me for a moment.
You don't need to breathe a specific way or clear your mind or be in any particular state. You just need to be here. Present, in your body, without an agenda about what's supposed to happen.
Take three slow breaths.
Let's drop below the commentary layer... the side of you that narrates everything. Let that go quiet for a minute.
PHASE ONE
Now bring something to mind that you know is completely true. Not something you believe or hope. Something you know. Your own name. Where you grew up. A fact so true to your core that it doesn't even feel like a thought, it just is.
Hold it. And before you think about it β notice what happens in your body.
There's something there. It's your system recognizing truth. You can call it whatever you want. It's been yours your whole life.
I'm going to call it your yes.
Now bring to mind something you know is false. Not uncertain. False. An obvious lie about yourself. Something that actively contradicts what you are.
Same quality of attention. But before the analysis β notice what happens in your body.
Different, isn't it? A slight contraction, maybe. Something registers as: no. that's not it.
That's your no.
You've had access to both signals your entire life. Your body's been running this read on everything: rooms, people, choices. It has never stopped generating accurate data. It was never confused. It knew.
And then you were trained to treat the data as unreliable.
Logic was offered as the superior tool. Feelings were considered suspect. Careful, articulate, defensible rationale became the currency... and the physical signals that arrived before it got marked as irrational, too soft, too hard to explain.
So you stopped explaining it. And after a while, you almost stopped hearing it.
PHASE TWO
Now bring to mind a real question you've been meaning to ask yourself. Something with two clear options that you've been circling.
Hold the first option. Don't evaluate it. Don't make the case for or against it. Just hold it in your awareness the way you'd hold something in your hands to feel its weight.
What does your body do?
Set that option down now.
Hold the second option. Same quality of attention. No judgement. Just receive it.
What does your body do?
Write down your reactions. Not your thoughts about it. The physical signals your body produced before your mind got involved.
What was the question, and what did each option produce in you?
I'm genuinely curious. The signal is more interesting than the conclusion.
