Hi, Carolyn and Nanette (hope I spelled your names right)! I joined your channel for this movie, but then I saw all the other fun ones you got on here, so it looks like I'll be sticking around. :D This is one of my favorite movies, so I literally squeed when I saw this one on Youtube. Your reaction didn't disappoint. So good! At the end of this one, you asked for more recommendations, and I listened to some of your thoughts on other films, just to get a feel for what you like. Here is my veeeery long list of the movies I'd recommend. Many of these I recommend not only because I think you two would enjoy them, but because I noticed you're just starting out, and I think they'd help your channel grow. Here we go. *Clears throat* Since you were looking for a more traditional romance: -Dirty Dancing (80s romantic drama, Patrick Swayze at his hottest) -Pretty Woman -50 First Dates (falls under the category of "shouldn't work, but totally does") I know there are more, but I can't think of them at the moment. And since, at the very end of this reaction, you mentioned wanting a comedy, here's a few good ones. I labelled those that have romance, unless saying so will give away too much: -Grumpy Old Men (hilarious comedy with lots of romance) -Grumpier Old Men (same as above, and as good as or better than it's predecessor) -Sister Act (more Woopie, the psychic in this film) -Sister Act 2 (slightly more serious, IMO better than the first) -Three Men and a Baby (80s with both drama and comedy. Gave way to the genre now known as dramady) -Three Men and a Little Lady (Three Men sequel) -The Goonies -Pretty In Pink -The Breakfast Club -Stand By Me -The Santa Clause (Tim Allen. The special effects are silly, but if you go in knowing that, you'll love it.) -The Santa Clause 2 -Kindergarten Cop (Arnold, Comedy, action, a bit of romance) -Twins (same as above, but 80s) -True Lies (same as above, but 90s, with Jamie Lee Curtis from Halloween) Movies that will help your channel. People actively search for reactions to these: -Independence Day (one of you said you love alien movies) -Interstellar -Rocky (the first two especially) -Million Dollar Baby -Top Gun Military action, romance) -Maverick (Top Gun sequel) -Thelma and Louise (great movie about friends. Please watch for triggers toward SA) -The Sixth Sense (Scary, with Bruce Willis. You guys HAVE TO SEE THIS ONE) -The Green Mile (Tom Hanks, and you'll get walloped with requests for this when you release Shaawshank) -Forrest Gump (you'll get hit with this one after Green Mile for Tom Hanks) -Rain Man (Tom Cruise, Dustin Hoffman) -Dances With Wolves -Mrs. Doubtfire (Robin Williams) -Good Will Hunting (Matt Damon, Robin Williams) -Titanic (do I have to say anything? lol) -The Bourne movies (Matt Damon, the first three films, starting with The Bourne Identity) -Speed (90s, massive action hit, Keanu Reeves) -John Wick (all 4 films. Present day massive action hits, Keanu Reeves) -Die Hard 2 and 3. (Please stop at 3. Some people don't like 2 as much, but you have to see 2 to get to 3, and 3 is a must watch. 2 is a Christmas movie (or is not) in the same way 1 is. 3 is not) -E.T. (with...an alien you'll like) -Schindler's List A warning on Schindler's List. This a hell of a hard watch. It's a must see, but beware of triggers. Please, take care of yourselves when you watch this. Your mental health matters. I don't know if you like animated films, but if you do, there is one you guys would love: -The Wild Robot. People will come to you for this if you jump on it while it's hot. If you don't like animated films, leave it alone. Only two more, I promise, and only watch these if you like musicals: -The Sound of Music -Wicked (people WILL come) A note on Wicked. It's not necessary to see The Wizard of Oz before you watch this film, however, there are a lot of callbacks to it, so you'll enjoy Wicked more if you watch Oz first. Ignore the terrible sequel to Oz. If you hate musicals, don't touch either of them. Hope this didn't get too long for you. Great reaction to Ghost. Can't wait for Shawshank and T2!

Totally Whatever

Wow! Thank you for this wonderful list!! And thanks for sticking around. 😉 We haven't seen a lot of these movies. We do have True Lies coming up next week! 🤫 We also have a YT edit of our reaction to The Green Mile. Some of our older reactions don't have Full-length Watchalongs but we are working on adding them here for our patrons.

Raven Dark

You're welcome. I'm glad it was okay to give you all of those. There is a short list of movies I forgot, mostly big classics. I'll add them when I can. Oh, and I already watched the Green Mile reaction, but I realized you had it only after I left the list. If I try to edit that off the list, Patreon might eat the comment and the whole thing will disappear. LOL If you manage to post it, I'll be all over it. :D Oh, and I have to know, how are you two on animated films or musicals? I have a whole other list for those. Looking forward to True Lies!

Totally Whatever

We are open to animated films and musicals but we've been focusing on sci-fi, drama, comedies and classic horror. Films from the 70s, 80s, and 90s that we missed watching!

Raven Dark

Ah. Then except for the few movies I forgot to add, I'll leave it there or now. Classics from the years you mentioned, or ones that fall into the categories you mentioned here and will end up being highly requested: -Back To The Future (80s, all three movies) -Ferris Beuller's Day Off (80s, you'll get asked for this after The Breakfast Club, or the reverse will happen) -Sixteen Candles (80s, problematic in places, but go in with the times in mind) -The Neverending Story (80s, fantasy, but you'll have to do it eventually) -Mannequin (huge 80s romcom hit) -Splash (80s, massive fantasy romance hit with early Tom Hanks and Daryl Hanna, please go into this one blind) -Jaws (only the first one, and it's almost hard to convey how huge this one was) -Beverly Hills Cop (80s, classic Eddie Murphy. There is a new sequel too which is supposed to be great) -Lethal Weapon (80s, Mel Gibson, Danny Glover) -Roxanne (90s romcom, super funny) -Cocoon (80s sci-fi classic) -Cocoon: The Return There is one other movie I'm putting on here. It's from 2001, so later than you said, but it's from the same director as The Sixth Sense, you'll want to see it, and you will get slammed with requests for it if you watch The Sixth Sense. -The Others. (everything that everyone says about The Sixth Sense applies to this one, except without Bruce Willis)

Totally Whatever

Wonderful, I'm adding these to our list! Thanks again!! We are working on launching a movie request form and a central location for all of these. I have seen Mannequin & The Neverending Story they are two of my favorites. We are more likely to have seen anything PG and below.

Gary Giaimo

Great and comprehensive list of recommendations, Raven! I agree on all counts (not that anyone's asking). This channel, on Patreon and on YouTube deserves all the followers it can get, and those movies will certainly attract attention.

They just don't make movies like this anymore. It kind of covers the whole gamete of entertainment. It's romantic, it's thrilling, it's funny, it's suspenseful, it's got great performances, a strong script. There's literally something for everyone, and movies today seem to reach for only one specific demographic. Maybe that's just the grumpy old man in me coming out, but I miss the audience-unifying classics like these. Anyway, as I step off my high horse here, just wanted to say another great reaction, and I can't wait to watch many more with the two of you. Great job!

Raven Dark

Thanks, Gary! Much appreciated. These ladies are great, and they're dynamic is spot on, so I really want to see this channel grow!

Totally Whatever

Completely agree! You summed it up perfectly. We miss those kinds of movies too. Thanks so much for your kind words and for watching!

Totally Whatever

Thanks, Gary & Raven! We are lucky to have you two as patrons. Thanks for helping us grow and sticking with us on this journey.

Great reaction, I knew you would cry, just like I did! I'd like to add a couple movies to Raven Dark's list: "Noises Off!" starring Michael Caine, Christopher Reeve, John Ritter "Billy Elliot" about a boy in a Northern England town during a miners' strike who wants to do ballet instead of boxing, a good cry, especially at the end.

Totally Whatever

The tears were flowing in this one! So glad you enjoyed the reaction. Thanks for the movie suggestions. I've seen Noises Off! on stage but not the film.

Brian - not sure what happened here. We are getting this fixed for you!

Okay, Brian! We had to re-upload this one. Let me know if you have any more issues.

Hi ladies, love this reaction. its my favourite demi Moore movie. My second favourite Patrick Swayze movie, after "Dirty Dancing". And my third favourite Whoopi Goldberg Movie after "Sister Act" and "Jumping Jack Flash" The Righteous Brothers rereleased Unchained Melody on the back of this movie and it charted in the top ten once more. It was originally a hit for them in the sixties.

Totally Whatever

It's such a beautiful movie. The ending pulls at the heart! As you can tell, we loved it.
