This is one of the best movies ever made in my opinion. it's so layered and emotional and so well executed. A true classic. If you ever get the urge to rewatch, I would highly recommend giving the extended Director's Cut a go.

I'm glad you enjoyed it my friend , i'm coming in late too awesome reaction to clarify Father Karras was not played by a real priest but by actor Jason Miller William O'malley was the real priest who played Father Dyer the one who gives Karras his last rites after he throws himself out the window .

Thanks for this reaction to the acclaimed Exorcist , it is generally considered one of the scariest movies ever made props to you two for watching it . Director William Friedkin insisted on realism and the conditions were torturous for the cast especially for Linda Blair although she did have a stunt double , there was still a lot she had to go through. To clarify the hospital scenes were performed by real Doctors and nurses contrary to myth Father Karras was not played by a real priest but by actor Jason Miller his friend Father Dyer played by William O'malley was a real priest he's the one who gives Karras his last rites after he saves Regan and then throws himself out the window . Enjoy the Spooky season🎃💓

I was 12 when this movie came out and all the adults just kept talking about it. So me and two buddies snuck into the bushes behind a drive in theater in -15 degree weather and watched it without sound. The next time I watched it was on vhs in the late 80s. The cast was unknown at the time because every top actor and actress turned the movie down as too risky. Janet Leigh would not let her daughter, Jamie Lee Curtis play Reagan. I hope someone told you all about the fires, floods, structural collapses, multiple accidents, involuntary amputations and multiple mysterious deaths that happened during the production of this movie.

That must have been interesting watching it with no sound in -15 degree weather! We had been told of some of the mysterious things that happened during production. Looks like Janet Leigh was right not to let Jamie Lee join the cast.
