We are thinking of starting a TV series. The full-length episodes will be released here first. We have a poll going on YT but we wanted to give our patrons an extra vote. (we will give your opinions more weight)

Band of brothers is fantastic

I just watched this last year, and I was disappointed I waited so long! It was excellent.

I actually tend to be somewhat anti TV shows on reaction channels because one show that someone doesn't like could take up multiple videos, whereas one movie someone doesn't like you can always wait for the next movie. I have been fans of channels where they do a TV show and weeks may go by before they return to movies. I voted Band of Brothers, if any had to be chosen.

Totally Whatever

We are getting a lot of comments on YT suggesting we avoid TV shows. So we are rethinking our next steps.

I would definitely recommend more polls of certain actors or actresses or genres or decades that way it would be easier for you to know which movies to start with.

If I see a tv reaction I say “ Oh crap .See you in a month.” If you’re truly passionate about a tv show then do it but if it’s all the same then don’t. 8 hours of anything that you’re not super excited about is a chore. The second it becomes a chore it shows onscreen .

Totally Whatever

Excellent point. We are considering revisiting a tv show later and for now, continue with movies only.

A short 1-season only series or a series where each season is a self-contained story might be a better place to start for a series, for example: "Chernobyl" (5 eps total) or "Reacher" (8 eps per season, each season a self-contained story arc)

That is a good idea. We will have to look into those. Are they more recent? We try to stay between 1970 - 2000 ish.

"Chernobyl" is from 2019, and "Reacher" is from 2022 (season 3 is currently being released weekly). Personally, i would say that "Chernobyl" is one of the best shows available to watch in terms of writing/dialog, story, acting, and actor talent. Serious subject matter, but top 1% quality. "Reacher" is based on a series of books by author Lee Child, with each season based on one of the books in the series, so the plot arc comes to a conclusion at the end of the season rather than a cliffhanger that leads to the next season. As a bonus, the 2012 movie "Jack Reacher" (with a different actor playing the title role) takes place between season 1 and season 2 of the series. I think that the 1st season is the strongest quality so far. Another similar series is "Bosch", which is based on a series of books by author Michael Connelly and each 10-ep season is based on 1 or 2 books from the series, so the plot arc comes to a conclusion at the end of each season. 7 seasons plus 2 more seasons of a spin-off, "Bosch Legacy", focusing on the main character's adult daughter. Pretty much anything pre-2000 that is short is going to be either a show that was cancelled mid-way through the first season (like "Firefly") or something that was intended from the beginning as a TV mini-series. They are going to be lower budget than new streaming series. Examples of the latter are: "Dune" aka "Frank Herbert's Dune" (2000) 3 eps "Children of Dune" (2003) 3 eps) "Horatio Hornblower" (1998) 8-eps "The Scarlet Pimpernel" (1998) 3 eps "Shogun" (1980 original) 5 eps "Ultraviolet" (1998) 6 eps, not related to the 2006 movie of the same name "Kindred: The Embraced" (1996) 8 eps
