At first, Nanette thought this episode was about Mal's mom! She was very, very wrong. 🤣

This was one of the best episodes. Christina Hendricks was fantastic and the perfect choice for the part. I can't imagine anyone else playing it. Loved the pacing of her dialogue with Inra versus Mal and Wash. Just speed up enough to make it just off. Also, the play on “lie” and “lying.” The dialogue and wordplay in this series were bar none. Your reactions at the end were perfect. Mal is proud when he walks out. 😂

This is one of our favorite episodes so far! Christina Hendricks was phenomenal! And the ending - Mal's face and Inara's face 😂

Great reaction on an amazing film! I watched the full length along with you guys on Wednesday. I am shocked you held back tears, I kept tearing up and I have seen the movie a number of times. You mentioned the location of the fictional Maine prison...it was actually filmed at the old Ohio State Reformatory near Mansfield, OH. I am not too far from that location. The prison closed back in 1990, but they have events there once in a while, most notably a haunted house where you actually go inside the old prison. Here is a picture of my sister and I at the haunted prison a few years ago. It is quite a sight. They even have the option where people can spend a night in the haunted prison itself. (I have NOT done that) Mike https://i.ibb.co/zTYmvC9f/mansf.jpg

That picture needed a jump scare warning! I didn't expect a bloody guy with a massive cleaver - I love how happy you look next to him. Carolyn and I have talked about taking a trip to Mansfield and visiting. We were thinking about doing a whole movie road trip, visiting different filming locations. A fellow Mainer told me that Stephen King based the prison on the Maine State Prison in Thomaston, Maine. That isn't too far from me, but it's closed now.

I thought I posted the comment under the Shawshank Video. LOL Yeah the Mansfield prison was a fun stop, especially during the haunted house. Parts of other movies were filmed there too, including "Tango and Cash" (1989) with Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell, and "Air Force One" (1997) with Harrison Ford. Also good flicks.

Totally Whatever

LOL. I figured you did. I don't think Carolyn and I would survive that prison during the haunted house!

Great reaction! Zoe is great! Mal in the dress scene still makes me laugh! So many good lines! "Someone tries to kill you, you try and kill them right back!" "... and people who talk at the theater." "The special hell." OMG, laughed so hard at that! Still do! "My days of not taking your seriously are coming to a middle." "Oh. Good bible." "Why? Is there blubber?" "Whoa. Good myth." All the close calls they have, almost getting people together! Christina Hendricks did a great job! At what point did you realize you were browncoats? :D Thanks! Take care!

Totally Whatever

LOL - I loved that theater line too. I'm a big theater nerd (Nanette) I feel at this point we started to realize we were browncoats ;) TeatroGrottesco promised us we would be.
