Here comes the VHS tape, oh yeah I threw them out. Have fun

Harvey Lee

One of the great period action thrillers of all time . Love the look of this era , You two being Chicago natives should really enjoy this . From one of my favorite directors Brian DePalma Costner , De Niro and Sean Connery This stacked cast delivers Now that's the Chicago way Just right for my Sunday watch Tw Ladies be safe .😎🤘

Mr. Writhms

Loved this reaction! You should do more Brian De Palma movies. He is the master of crime dramas and creating suspense. I think "Scarface" was the last movie of his you reacted to. Fun Fact: Robert De Niro actually gained the weight to play Al Capone. That was no fat make-up in his face, nor fat padding in his clothing. Great job, Carolyn & Nanette!

AdrianF

Great reaction as always. Hopefully we'll get some more KC if I ever win the prod poll/you get around to JFK. It's such a good movie, and IMO the best KC did.

thomas king

Great watch. Sean Connery won the Oscar for his role. Awesome cast and how good was the music.

Totally Whatever

Thanks, Adrian. JFK is high on our list! Did you see that we added a YT Edit of Cocktail (your pick) to our Reloaded channel?

Totally Whatever

So glad you enjoyed it. What is your favorite Brian De Palma movie? We didn't realize that was all De Niro!

Totally Whatever

A very stacked cast!! Let us know how we did. Happy Sunday!

Mark M

Great movie. Great reaction. I'm a big fan of all the parties involved. Brian De Palma(director), Ennio Morricone(composer, I can't believe Carolyn said the music was reminding her of Beetlejuice😆) David Mamet(writer) and the whole cast was good. Now that you've heard Kevin Costner's Chicago accent, you should watch Robin Hood Prince of Thieves to hear his British accent😊

Mr. Writhms

It's hard to name 1 favorite DePalma movie but I will say my top 5 are: The Untouchables Dressed To Kill Scarface Blow Out Mission Impossible (the 1st one)

Harvey Lee

Now i do like Kevin Costner but his performance in Robin Hood is known as quite possibly one of the worst attempts at an English accent ever , he basically doesn't bother with it at all Cary Elwes in Men in Tights makes a famous jab at him for that . 😄

Harvey Lee

Blowout starring John Travolta and Nancy Allen is one of my favorites from DePalma he also did Carrie and Mission Impossible i hope they react to one of these in future .

Bill Elliott

Really glad you got to watch this, I thought about it ever since I joined your channel and heard you from Chicago. This was actually the first R rated movie I saw when I was 8 after it came out. Again, if you liked the music, try “The Mission”, one of the films I suggested, his score for that will stay with you. Ennio Morricone’s most famous music is from the spaghetti westerns starring Clint Eastwood, like the theme from the “Good the Bad and the Ugly”. If I can ask, how much Al Capone history is still in Chicago?

Joe Shwartz

I just watched along with you and it was fantastic! I love this movie, although if you’re wondering how historically accurate it is, there were definitely many liberties taken for dramatic purposes. For example, you wondered in the scene where Ness confronts Capone in the hotel how much of that interaction was what really happened….from what I’ve heard, while Ness was primarily responsible for the investigation that sent Capone to prison, the two of them actually never met or had any interaction with each other and that was made up for the movie. This was also based on a tv show from the late 50s and early 60s also called The Untouchables where Robert Stack (Unsolved Mysteries and Airplane) starred as Eliot Ness. I love the show too, I have the series on DVD. It unfortunately isn’t streaming anywhere currently so DVD is the only place to see that if you have the opportunity, that’s definitely a fun watch as well!

FranciscoGios

Apart from the Cast this movie is good. You girls reacting to this movie i forgot that i was always intrigued with Capone's Hitman the one who killed Sean Connery's character.

AdrianF

I did, and I will go and give it a like right now but I don't 'get' the edited reactions thing. I know YT is super important for reactors, but yea...

Totally Whatever

Thanks for doing that! Some people prefer a condensed version. I'm glad we can provide both.

Totally Whatever

You saw this when you were 8?! 😲 😲 I would have to ask Carolyn the Al Capone question. I know they do tours, and his home is still standing, I believe.

Totally Whatever

Thanks for clarifying that meeting in the hotel. It seems they took a lot of liberties. So glad you enjoyed our reaction!

Totally Whatever

That actor did a great job as the hitman. Especially the scene on the roof.

Totally Whatever

Oh no - is his British accent better or worse than his Chicago accent?

RegalEagle

I’ll be there tomorrow.. tonight it’s Wisconsin Dells..

Mark M

It's the same. I don't mean it's not better or worse. I mean it sounds the same as his Chicago accent 😂

Mike the Ginger

This is a great movie! - You noticed the music at the beginning. It was composed by Ennio Morricone, who also did the music for "In the Line of Fire". The opening music to this movie was almost identical to the rooftop jumping scene in "In the Line of Fire". - The train scene is amazing. When Nanette saw the lady trying to drag the baby carriage and yelled out "THIS IS THE PLAN?!" I had the same reaction the first time I saw it. - Deniro is amazing actor. In the last year, you have already seen him in this movie, Backdraft, Heat, Midnight Run, and there are still so many more great performances to go. - Sean Connery stole the show in this movie, as he did in most of his roles. I recommend a 1995 Sean Connery crime thriller "Just Cause". - I know you enjoyed "Field of Dreams" and I highly recommend more Kevin Costner. I second "JFK", it is such an insanely great film (regardless of whether or not it was a conspiracy or not) and I also recommend "A Perfect World". Have either of you seen "The Bodyguard"?

Totally Whatever

That lady with the baby carriage was driving us mad! JFK is high up on the list right now. We will have to add "A Perfect World" and "The Bodyguard".

Mike the Ginger

That Bodyguard soundtrack is engrained in my mind because my mother spent nearly all of late 1992/early 1993 playing those Whitney Houston songs on repeat.

Scribe31oz

So glad you ladies loved this one. I've always said that there is cool and then there's Andy Garcia sliding in to save the baby while tossing Kevin Costner a gun cool. And yes, I am just as heartbroken as losing the accountant as Malone. His character just rose to the occasion perfectly.

Totally Whatever

Andy Garcia coming to the rescue is one of our new favorite scenes.
