I’m sooo glad you took on this pic! Absolutely great!

I forgot this was dropping today and am not at home, so a bit gutted that I can't watch this today easily. But... I'm going to try and be 'young' and use my phone for your reaction, if the internet holds up.

Michael Keenan

Just a great movie. You could take a date to. Good to watch during a heat wave.

Kevin Rubio

One of my favorite romantic comedies. It introduced the world to Harry Connick Jr. who was suggested to Rob Reiner by Marc Shaiman, when Rob wanted to use Sinatra for the soundtrack. The married couple interstitials were all real and Rob's idea. He simply interviewed each couple (sitting off camera) and then cut them into the film. You mentioned the fall colors. What you may not have noticed is that the seasons change as the film and their lives progress. Beginning in Spring and ending in Winter. FUN FACT: The woman in the deli - "I'll have what she's having," is Rob's mother.

Thanks for a great reaction to this RomCom benchmark. The 4-telephone scene is a single take after SIXTY attempts, and it's one of the all-time great directing/acting sequences in film history. Rob Reiner’s top 7 films are indelible. He directed arguably the best RomCom (When Harry Met Sally), the best Coming of Age film (Stand By Me), the best Mockumentary (This is Spinal Tap), the best Fantasy Romance (The Princess Bride), one of the best Stephen King Adaptations (Misery), the best Courtroom Drama (A Few Good Men), and a peak Political Romance (The American President). What a legend.

AdrianF

Legend is right. That run was legendary.

AdrianF

I made it work, brilliant reaction, one of the best rom-coms - if not the best - ever. I don't think there's anything close to this honestly. We were talkijng in the chat about the top 5 rom-coms. This has to win, Love Actually and Notting Hill are in the 5. Maybe Sleepless in Seattle in one of the 5. I'm rambling, but yea

AdrianF

For help, this AMZ version matches the Apple one, I can't check the 4K release (not home) but I bet it's the same. Now I'm going to order a Sheldon of alcohol and watch England do football.

Phil Stubblefield

I'm also partial to While You Were Sleeping (1995). ❤️

Byrd N. Hand

Alas, none of the films he made after "The American President" are all that good... apart from maybe "Spinal Tap II," which turned out to be his last. Also, I feel "The Sure Thing" never gets enough love, despite being a loose remake of "It Happened One Night."

Phil Stubblefield

What a fantastic film! Definitely a top-five rom-com. And I agree that we need more Billy Crystal, more Meg Ryan, and more rom-coms! BTW, I'm not sure I've ever heard such a between-gritted-teeth grumble from Câr: "*I* had to play the flute because *Nanette* played the flute." 😂

Nanette & Carolyn are shimmering, glimmering, gorgeous goddesses

First while Reiner is, was great, the script from Nora Ephron was the real star, you mean letting a woman write for woman characters presents what sounds like an actual real woman would sound like not what a male writer thinks a woman sounds like, who would have thought ,lol It feels like what actual conversations men and women have had throughout time Also shout out to Ryan and Crystal who just have it together My favorite dialogue in the whole movie and gets me every time is when paraphrasing here when she finds her ex is getting married and asks why not me why didn't he choose me?, a question we have all asked at some time or another

Nanette & Carolyn are shimmering, glimmering, gorgeous goddesses

Also let's get this out of the way,are men and women able to be friends? Need answers from Nanette and Carolyn too no wiggling out of this one lol As a man I would say mostly no, I look at a woman and within a millisecond my biology let's me know if I'm attracted or not, then I want to see if she is a witch or not,if she isn't then I want to pursue her as my significant other,if I'm attracted to you we aren't able to be friends not would I want that, I have enough friends,so I will be interested on what the ladies have to say and anyone else

fire12wife

They were in winter twice... the first time Harry helped her carry her Christmas tree, and the second, she was alone and had to drag it up the hill!

Awesome reaction, ladies! The original ending to this movie was much different... Harry and Sally didn't get together in the end, and everyone hated it! Rob Reiner had recently met Michelle Singer who he was in love with. That made him change his mind about the end of the movie, and he put Harry and Sally together! Rob ended up marrying Michelle, and of course had their 3 kids. Such a tragic end to their lives. Rob Reiner was previously married to Penny Marshall. Penny already had a daughter Tracy when they met. Rob adopted Tracy and gave her his last name. She still goes by Tracy Reiner . Rob was a great father to her and loved her as his own. Tracy is also an actress and had a non speaking role in this movie. She was Harry's younger girlfriend "Aunt Emily" that made desserts for a living! Tracy was also in A League of Their Own (1992) that her mother directed. She played "Betty Spaghetti", one of the players on the baseball team. I don't want to give anything else away about the movie, in case you end up reacting to it someday. It's an iconic movie, and has some of the best quotes of all time, like "There's no crying in baseball" Most people have heard that quote, even if they've never seen the film! I'd love to see your reaction to it, along with Sleepless in Seattle (1993), You've Got Mail (1998), That Thing You Do! (1996), Pretty Woman (1990), and Runaway Bride (1999)! They're all fantastic rom-coms I know you'd love! Thank for the reaction, loved it!

Totally Whatever

So glad you could make the phone work! Sleepless in Seattle might need to be our next rom-com.

Totally Whatever

Lol, she really nails both of their voices. And the acting 😙🤌

Totally Whatever

We LOVE A League of Their Own! It's one of our favorite movies. It's been a while since we have seen it, so we might have to do a re-watch just for fun.

Bill Elliott

Arguably the best rom com ever made and will do well on You Tube if you plan to do an edit.

fire12wife

That would be awesome!!! Can never see that movie too many times!

fire12wife

While filming that scene, Rob took a seat across from Billy to literally show Meg exactly how over the top he wanted her to do the orgasm.... and it wasn't until he finished that he remembered that his mother was right there! He said he was so humiliated! LOL! 😂

fire12wife

Billy Crystal and Rob Reiner became best friends when Billy played Rob's best friend on the tv show All in the Family. They stayed best friends for fifty years until Rob's passing. Billy was the first person to Rob's house after the police.

Totally Whatever

We will edit it for YT, but we are not sure when. We are getting a bit behind.

Totally Whatever

Sounds like they had a beautiful friendship. It must have been devastating to be the first person at the house.

Totally Whatever

I'm not sure we saw that one. We've seen some Seinfeld, but not all the episodes.

Bill Elliott

Hang in there you two. You are making a lot of content, pace yourselves, your subscribers I think are the patient type and will get it if you need to take a break or slow down. The march to 100000 subscribers is steady not a sprint:) Going dark again for a week but will chip in when I can with a nice YOU TUBE comment.

Harvey Lee

Forgive me i'm late in my response , but this is just one of the great romantic comedies , reminds me of past dating experiences it's one of those rom -coms that's really beloved , also a great New Years movie as well .
