See no evil, hear no evil is a true classic!

MotoDork

Oh my gentle Jesus this is a difficult one. I do love Strange Brew but I do love Weird Al more. So, UHF it is.

Mr. Writhms

"See No Evil, Hear No Evil" is Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor's third movie together. It's pretty good. I would also suggest "Silver Streak" (1979) and "Stir Crazy" (1980) which is their BEST. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Phil Stubblefield

How can the vote be anything other than UHF? Early Weird Al, before his superstardom? And Michael Richards, just before Cosmo Kramer became a household name in Seinfeld? C'mon, people! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

David Zabel

Thatโ€™s how I tried to design it. BTW, if thereโ€™s a four way tie for first, do we get to watch all four???

Totally Whatever

lol - we can't watch all four. Maybe at some point, though. I

Mark M

They have seen a good amount of the movie spoof/references in UHF so that gets my vote but you can't go wrong with any of these comedies.

David Zabel

Weird Al was already a superstar five years earlier. If anything, this movie almost killed his career. Thankfully it became a huge cult classic.

Byrd N. Hand

Granted, it didn't initially do well because it came out in the absolutely stacked summer of '89 (as did "Weekend at Bernie's," though that managed to be a mild sleeper hit). But, of course, the cream always eventually rises to the top.

Byrd N. Hand

"Fletch" and "Fletch Lives" should be a package deal, as far as I'm concerned. I actually saw the latter first before I ever knew it was a sequel. ๐Ÿค”

Byrd N. Hand

Yeah, I'd probably suggest watching them chronologically. And they also did one more together, of course ("Another You" from '91).

JAKH

Loaded Weapon!!!!!

Byrd N. Hand

Disappointed by the lack of love for "Strange Brew" (the only movie based on an SCTV sketch, as far as I know). Maybe another time. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

David Zabel

I don't think it really matters what order you watch them. They are four completely different films, not a franchise.

HeyHeyJK

I'm putting in a lone vote for Strange Brew. Not sure how it translates over to people who don't know the SCTV characters/sketch, but worth a shot. And while Chevy Chase is a egotistical curmudgeon, Fletch is really funny (still not voting for it though).

Byrd N. Hand

No, you don't have to watch them in order, but, given that I feel each movie has diminishing returns, you might as well not. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Byrd N. Hand

Yeah, Chase really only appeared in a handful of worthwhile movies: "Foul Play," "Caddyshack," the original and Christmas "Vacation" movies, the 2 "Fletch" movies, and maybe also "Funny Farm." I know quite a few people also like "Spies Like Us" and "ยกThree Amigos!," but neither one of them really did anything for me. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Mr. Writhms

I didnt say to watch them in order. I just simply mentioned it was their 3rd movie together. The stories don't connect.

Mike the Ginger

I believe I saw this movie before the other three, but I am always OCD about doing things in chronological order, too LOL (For ex: We still need the girls to see the non Michael Myers Halloween 3: Season of the Witch before they continue the Michael Myers saga with Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers)

Mike the Ginger

Weekend at Bernie's is one of my personal favorite movies (literally probably in my top 15 favs) and I remember seeing it at a very young age, maybe 4 or 5 years old. It got my vote. (Although if it comes up short, it IS a Labor Day movie...so the girls could always do it for Labor Day)

Nanette & Carolyn are shimmering, glimmering, gorgeous goddesses

I voted for fletch, I know he is a jerk but also a comedy genius,it's the best on the list ,I saw someone say uhf didn't do much when it came out because I was wondering after seeing it why weird al hadn't done any other movies,it was very unique
