Branches - WIP Week 2 (Patreon)

Hey Everyone,

Wednesday was the 2nd session for the May song and I think we've got a solid direction to properly finish the song. Here are some notes and thoughts:

• Before Wednesday, I spent some time on adjusting the chords to integrate the feel of the original high piano melody without busying the song up.
• In the verse section on stream I focused on making subtle adjustments like ambient layers (a lot of them) and background chord elements (strings, etc).
• The other main focus of the stream was to come up with a solid second section (drop) of the song. I took heavy inspiration from Here Again on this one and I think it turned out fantastic (though I'm still on the fence on if it's too close or not).

I really like this direction but there's a lot here that's missing. Before next week I am going to clean up a few things and do some sound design for the drop. Next week's session will be focused mainly on FX and fleshing out the sections you hear here. That being said, this is still in WIP territory so lots could change, but I think we're close to a version that I'd like to finish.

Download for this session is available for ANimals and up. I'll see you next Wednesday @ 12PM ET US for another session.

Have a great weekend,
- Andrew
