Here's a gorgeous new video for you. It is about the great lions of the Serengeti. It's about Mufasa and his awesome smelling powers.

This film has gripped me for some time. A much-needed (!) prequel to The Lion King, I remember the first time I saw the movie poster, in which Mufasa stood defiantly, staring me down from the wall, and I knew at that moment that I was about to witness something immense. Mufasa: The Lion King (2024), as it turns out, is fucking crazy.

I love Mufasa and all the mad bullshit it includes. It's a very special movie - I watched it feverishly in a Glasgow cinema and shivered with pure delight at each new Mufasa lore drop. We are living in Mufasa's weird world, and it's time we all accepted that and embraced the Mufasaning.

Astute patrons will have realised that this video is unusually late - yes, I admit to you that this is the bonus video for September. Hopefully you'll find it worth the extra wait, but the video I have planned for you next should come right at the end of October (or the first week of November). We'll be back on schedule.

I will leave you with a few alternative thumbnail ideas:

Lion cubs at da lion clubs. Where table service is a dead zebra. The Gazelle. Roarmageddon. The Watering Hole. I wanna see THAT movie

I haven't seen this movie, but is there a single scene in the entire thing with a stationary camera? I think every scene you showed has a pan or zoom. It's exhausting!

You gotta go fast in lion world.
