Hi!

Big update... mostly since it's been a minute since the last one, so a lot of small things piled up. I don't want to push this too hard, in case people get annoyed by the constant emails, ya know? So I'm giving more time between each.

Alright, onto the list of changes and additions:

Street Samurai Catalogue

Model Nine Added

Civilian Vehicles

Lore Intro section

Lore Intro... redone

More lore bits added (that also need to be redone!)

Added 'how to make civilian items' section

Added art to Tier Zero, made some fixes as well

Updated BioHacker

Added Chibi Cat to the Combat Skills section and redid some Feats

We're... pretty far in, actually. All that's left is the Model Ten and Hive, then the rest of the Lore section (which will admittedly take some time) and finally... uh... yeah, that's it? More playtests, of course, but I think that's everything? I'll call this the 80% mark!

I think I can have a fully working version, with everything added, by Version 0.60!

I think this is great, keep the updates coming. I dunno how it plays tho since I’ve not participated in the playtests, but as a lore reference I love it. Just make sure to spend time on the design

RavensDagger

Oh! What do you think could be improved about the design? Legit, I'm trying to make it as good as I can myself, but I'm not any sort of expert, could use some C&C!

Thomas Heaton

Well, I'm no designer myself, so take anything I saw with a grain of salt, but ... I'm not a fan of the prominent Heading (H2 or H3 I think) font. For something cyberpunk-inspired, I think that font doesn't quite fit that aesthetic. Looks like you want a monospaced font or something similar, so maybe the font used on a lot of terminal apps: Courier, Monaco, Menlo (Bitstream Vera), or maybe Roboto Mono. Also, sometimes this header is indented, and sometimes it is not. That inconsistency is bothering me, haha

There are also text flow issues that need to be dealt with, but I know how hard it is to have text play with images in a layout. Maybe some invisible shapes in the background or added padding to the images so that text doesn't try to stick to the images too closely

Thomas Heaton

Some specific feedback would include Page 35, not a fan of the image and "Starting Gear" overlapping like that. I say crop and position the image lower. If you want to keep the image there though, maybe consider a gradient, but as I write that I don't think it would look good ...

Thomas Heaton

Page 37 & 38 have some examples of the text inside shapes needing more space, especially that top left corner. The Feats tables starting after page 40 can use more padding as well. Stuff like that will make it a little more readable.

Thomas Heaton

Again, take or leave anything I say, I'm no expert, but those are things I'd consider playing with the design if I were in control. For all I know, my suggestions could look like junk!

Thomas Heaton

I probably have more OPINIONS but I need to get back to work, haha

RavensDagger

Oh! Noted! I'll see what I can do about what you pointed out. I really need to go back to the start and work all the way through with what I've learned. I can see what you mean, though, some things could be... nicer!
