AOA officially ended in 2020. Choa left the group in 2017 due to depression and insomnia. Mina left the group in 2019 to pursue an acting career. In 2020, Mina made a series of Instagram posts detailing being bullied by the group leader, Jimin, that drove her to the point of self-harm and almost taking herself out. This lead to an apology from both Jimin and their company, as well as Jimin leaving the group and retiring from the entertainment industry. The remaining 4 members left the company between 2021 - 2024 (Yuna, 2021; Seolhyun, 2022; Hyejeong, 2023; Dohwa, 2024) but the group never performed after Mina's accusations. Choa returned to the industry in 2020 and has been performing as a soloist since while also doing some acting. Jimin returned to the industry in 2022 as a soloist. Yuna became a yoga instructor, songwriter, producer & backing singer and is now married (2024) and has a daughter (2025). Hyejeong is an actress now. Mina's return to entertainment was announced last year but she hasn't appeared in or performed anything as of yet. Seolhyun is an actress now, last appearing in the kdrama Light Shop (2024) and has an upcoming show call Show Business in post production. Dohwa was a soloist and actress for a while before announcing in 2025 that she would be pursuing her acting career moving forward and then getting married.
