Jyn Erso (Star Wars Rogue One) - 9/10/22 Exclusive (Patreon)

Jyn Erso came very close to winning the poll for last month, so I figured I'd do a piece with her for all you lovely people.

Aside from Rogue One, and maybe some episodes of the Mandalorian, I've found Disney Star Wars to be quite underwhelming. Do any of you have any guilty pleasures among the recent Star Wars films, or shows?

I’ve been a Star Wars fan for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I spent countless hours reading EU books, from the Thrawn trilogy up to the Legacy of the Force books. Despite their flaws, I still find the Sequel films enjoyable. I much prefer the EU and it’s characters, but I don’t hate what the sequels did. My complaint with “Disney Star Wars” isn’t the content itself, but rather the creators in charge. It’s taken me the better part of 5 years, but I enjoy the Sequel trilogy for what it is, even if I’d have preferred something different. The characters are great, planets are interesting, cinematography is absolutely phenomenal, and I enjoy the overall story they were going for. I’m not going to defend them or try to convince anyone that they’re “good” but I’ve done my own research, self-reflection, and talked about the series with enough people to have come to peace with my mindset on the Sequels and “Disney Star Wars” as a whole. Also, your art is fantastic, as always! I’d love to see more Star Wars characters drawn by you!

I'd say that outside of the Mandelorian series and it's side story spin-offs, not much of the rest of the recent material from the Disney era really makes me interested in watching more. Though, to be fair, Jyn Erso and her family being associated with the death star was interesting, not to mention the ending of the movie showing how dangerous Vader really can be. That said, I'm hoping the next season of Mandelorian is good! Awesome work, once more, man!

To be perfectly honest, I'm just so sick of them trying to squeeze in all these extra backstories to six movies that were already great. I'll admit I have come to like Ahsoka Tano as a character, but that Clone Wars movie didn't need to be made - especially in CGI. Rogue One didn't need to be made either. We already knew that the rebels were going to get the plans, since A New Hope begins with them having said plans and attempting to escape with them. I don't need to watch a TV series about Obi Wan either, since I already learned everything I need to know about him from the movies.

The Mandalorian was and is a show I really like... the rest as you say is not my kind of type. Buuut I also have to say I never was a great Star Wars fan to begin with. This one goes to my brother XD Btw. love that you gave Jyn such amazing long soles <3
