Progress Report (Patreon)

Hello everyone!

This is my so-called Progress Report. It seems like game developers often make these? Well, I’ll give it a try. I hope this message won’t be a source of frustration for you.

I hope everyone liked the new version of the translation I released. I also released a new fix for the game that addresses the UI and fixed the previous post... but I didn’t release a separate post just for this fix (the reasons for that will be explained below).

According to the poll, everyone liked the idea of a gallery for Loyal Demise (I’ll call it LD), so it’s going to happen. In fact, most of the work is already done (it took quite a bit of time since the engine's UI didn’t allow for copying, so everything had to be transferred manually—painful).

But before that, I’d like to release the gallery update for Domina 10.0. Version 10.5 is already out, but I’ve heard there are no new scenes in it, so there will be nothing new to show.

Unfortunately, all of these things are getting delayed because testing takes much longer than development. For example, the LD gallery will likely be ready only at the beginning of next month. There are over 140 scenes that all need to be reviewed and tested. I want this to be properly tested—there’s nothing worse than releasing something that doesn’t work. That’s why I couldn’t just release the fix separately without testing it.

I realize that the reason my progress is slower is that I don’t have people who can help test things. So, I’m thinking of gathering a few volunteers to do this. As a bonus, you’ll get early access to everything—before anyone else—and will be the next after me to see my work. I will also try to see if there’s a way to offer a discount on my Patreon plan for certain individuals (I’m not sure how this works, sorry. I didn’t even realize that my Patreon was set to $5 a month instead of $2 until I started receiving subscription emails).

Most likely, this will be a Discord server dedicated solely to testing. I’m not sure I want to create a public server since it will almost always be empty, and frequently visited by bots, etc. Of course, testing isn’t hard work—it can be done at any time or even skipped if you’re busy. It will just help speed up my work.

I’m also not sure what else I can release. Of course, if a month goes by without content, it will be disappointing. I’ll have to stop charging you if I feel there isn’t enough content for the month (for example, I’m not sure if LD alone is worth $5 a month, or if it should be LD + Domina). So, if you have any suggestions, I’ll try to consider them. I’m not sure if I can fulfill them.

For example, how do you feel about LD being released in high quality? I’ll increase the resolution to something suitable for modern screens, not 640x480. I hope I don’t look like the guy from the “Good Morning Sunshine!” meme with the cow and the guy with the buckets.
