So funny seeing you reactions of Vegeta rn

tony

I love vegeta lol him being so mad that goku shows up so much stronger (even when he is saving him) is so funny to me

tony

so funny that some comments try to defend him. I get you love Vegeta, same, but he doesn't have the zoro type of pride lol he is very flawed, he is a petty bitch and his pride is more like just ego. I think he is cool in how smart he is and he has cool moments when he is winning but c'mon 😂

Yeah I think pride in yourself or, especially here, battle (or a mixture of the two) can have both negative and positive connotations depending on the character and person/viewer interpretation. So there’s actually a lot to talk about when it comes to that, but it’s difficult to have conversations sometimes when I’m new to the story and characters and other people have watched it for years and already have established opinions formed over a long time (after having seen the whole show and all the development a character has gone through).

Yes, there is noble pride and there is "sin" pride. Not trying to imply if Vegeta goes through a noticeable change or not for the rest of the story but from what we have seen so far, it's just a very ego based pride. And I understand it can feel like talking to a wall sometimes when people just want to be defensive about a character they love and have seen the whole journey and try to convince you he is cool and idk why they do it because it seem you like the character lol

I had the same thing with vegeta but you ll understand him just very very late his meaning of pride he is a character of development dont try to talk to the fans it will just drive you crazy because there is still a lot to happen with vegeta fun scary Disappointing thrilling sad and happy moments this is just the beginning of a big picture and enjoy every moment trust me u will look back to those moments no matter how ugly they are. But also i am enjoying your moments of reaction when those vegeta moments are happening 😊

The whole point is no one needs to tell me to expect that journey or try to rush it to happen. That’s why I brought up what happened with nami before, because people were doing the same thing. Just let me have my journey and see how it plays out :) without dropping hints or hyping it up or telling me what I’m going to feel

Vegeta finishes off Recoom and Burter not to claim the victory but because he considers an ennemy that isn't killed undefeated + if they're alive they're obviously gonna heal and could pose a problem later. I also think you're mistaking pride with honor. Yes he obviously doesn't fight with honor, betrays, is merciless, uses underhanded methods and he does these because he's a pragmatic "end justifies the means" villain, much like most Dragon Ball antagonists, and considers these to be positive qualities, which it is normal to disagree with since he's a villain. But that's not what makes him cool in people's eyes. What unequivocally makes him cool at this point of the story to many is that despite having the usual defaults of being a self-serving villain, he also displays the qualities and tropes we normally attribute to the hero of the story. In this arc he doesn't think twice about fighting stronger villains far outnumbering him, shows great resolve, growth, is grounded enough to progress and bring his delusions to fruition, is able to acknowledge his mistakes and his inferiority when required, takes calculated life-risking gambles, uses his brain to overcome the odds and explicitly values hard work over conceitedness So basically, despite being set up as extremely strong and relying on this overwhelming strength in the previous arc, he's reintroduced here into a David vs Goliath type scenario where instead of being the Goliath he's now the David of the story. It showcases all of the aforementionned qualities among which are courage and humility (humility as to where he currently stands in relation to others). Qualities unreformed antagonists have not shown to posess up till now because they always got drunk on their own strength and the slightest crack in that facade made them crumble. He's a strong asshole with hero-like qualities.
