So happy to see you taking the dive into GT, and enjoying it!!! Can’t wait for more!!! Not sure if anyone in your community has told you about this, but there is one GT TV special later (similar to the Bardock/Trunks specials in DBZ). Most often, fans recommend to watch this after the end of the series, but I would like to put in an early petition for you to check it out in its proper broadcast order. In Japan, the GT TV special aired between episodes 41 and 42 of the series. To me, the special works best here, and I’ve always found it most satisfying to watch GT this way. Also, I know you personally enjoy experiencing things as close as possible to how the original Japanese fanbase got to experience these series, which is why I thought this would be worth mentioning. Whatever you choose to do, I still look forward to the rest of this journey!!! 🚀

Actually, it's never stated in the serie in japanese dub that GT take place 5 years after Z. It was stated in a guidebook not written by the writers of the series released half way. Actually, I don't know if you notice but Pan state she is older than goku in the first 2 episode. But as Pilaf wished goku to have the same age than when they meet. He should be 12. So the serie can't take place 5 years after Z. (Because she will be 9).

And actually Bra outfit while being 8 years old would be really strange. I am pretty sure the writers never planned GT 5 years after Z But more 10. Actually every dub made GT taking place 10 years after Z, not just US one (french, italian and spanish too)

I think that those who don't like GT didn't watch the original series. It's ridiculous that they don't like it because it's not canon, but they do like the DBZ movies (which are also not canon).

That's not the reason I dont like it. Cant really go into the reasons without spoilers, but there's plenty of reasons other than "it's not canon"

If you want the real Dragon Ball experience, after you're done with GT you need to wait 20 years before you start Super.

Vaidas Šukauskas

To be fair, I don't like anything past the mainline series. Not GT, and certainly not Super. But GT opening rocks!

Eric

That, and she also needs to watch Dragon Ball Kai in between watching Dragon Ball GT and Dragon Ball Super. (Mostly joking, but this is usually how I do my rewatches because I’m a masochist. DB>DBZ>DBGT is the original experience. DB Kai>DB Super is the New Game+ experience.)

The GT opening is one of my favorite parts of this series and 200% better than the Anerican dub opening I heard as a kid lol

Kyle Drayton

Those same reasons can also apply to super despite it "being more canon" but can't get into spoilers that much either other than the double standards that come with people that don't like gt yet like super
