Yeah, calling Goku a "generic hero" is laughable for someone who acttually watched the show. His eccentricity absolutely makes him unique, and he even says himself that he's not some hero, just someone who beats you up if you hurt his friends.

My favorite movies from the ones you have watched so far are: Movie 6 because Metal Coola + Big Gete Star, and Fusion Reborn because Gogeta and Hitler.

There most have been something in the water at Toei the day they decided to put him in Dragon Ball. That was one way to make the B plot interesting...

Curse of the Blood Rubies is the standout for me from the three DB movies, Arale throwing a giant boulder at Tao Pai Pai for the lolz never gets old. And of course the endearing music ending with "COME OUT DRAGON, JUST FOR ME" aka Dragon Ball I'll get it !

Ohhhh right now I know what you’re talking about 🤣 I had almost forgotten about that little side story

Getting killed by a Gotenks meme attack as well... that's rough. Alhough, at least he wasn't peed on like Broly in Movie 10...

You are wrong about japanese kids being too polite for giving their energy to goku in theaters. In fact in every precure movie (basically sailormoon for younger girls but with dragon ball Z fights) there is a scene where the heroines need the energy of everyone to beat the bad guy and each kids in the theater received a small light toy they must raise ahead their head while cheering the héroïnes. I am sure it was the same here

Yes well if they had permission to do it that’s a different story. They received a light toy so they knew they were “supposed to”. I was just saying this based on watching the one piece live show at USJ. Brook was playing music and people were sitting politely until he instructed them to take their commemorative towels, “twist it like this, hold together and swing around your head to the rhythm”. That’s when people started to do it :) In South Africa people are less reserved. The Zulu culture especially (from what I have seen personally) would have people singing “lelelelelelele” and similar sounds from excitement. If you want I can send you a video of my dad’s retirement. It’s not a matter of being “wrong” when I was most likely making a joke based on my personal experience anyway.

I didn't want to be rude when I said "you are wrong " sorry. It's must be dues the fact english is not my native language. It was just to say that for kid movies japanese tend to be more expressive. (And also to talk about precure, as the series is pretty unknow out of japan while it's the 3rd biggest toei licence)
