We've finally reach the infamous Dragonball Super episode 114 that supposedly brought DBZ back to Super. The visuals you were so amazed at were done by the animator Yuya Takahashi who has become somewhat of a spectacle in the Dragonball community for his work. The long flowy hair, indented cheek shading, sharp noses, and particular depiction of the muscles are all reminiscent of the Buu arc at the end of Z. PS: If you're curious, he also worked on episode 110. The scene that starts off with Goku's back as the camera pans around both Goku and Jiren was his cut.

Regarding the excellent animation of episode 114, the main person responsible for it was the animator Yuya Takahashi. He is one of the most beloved animators by the fanbase because he brings back the style of the Z era, specifically the Buu saga. I wanted to comment on your reactions and feelings. Please continue as you are, don't try to force any emotion similar to what we felt when the episode was released. We had been waiting for years for the anime to return, and that's why we were excited when new episodes came out to watch incredible fights, even with animation and scripts that had several inconsistencies. Currently, rewatching the episode 115, I no longer feel that excitement I had the first time, precisely because of the animation errors. I remember that when this episode was released, many fans made the same criticisms you made about Goku having to reach Ultra Instinct to fight Kefla, since she is a fusion of two Saiyans who are much weaker than Goku. Anyway, I want to clarify that the main reason I enjoy your reactions so much is precisely your sincerity, this makes it seem genuine to me. I can feel when you're excited or frustrated with what you've just watched. So don't worry, I'm having a lot of fun with your reactions and opinions. Please continue being yourself❤

Super Saiyan God Goku looked soo good ep 114❤️‍🔥. Honestly that 8.4 imdb is because of Ultra instinct hype. Yeah people have had same issue with Kefla shouldn't be on the same level as Goku. They shouldn't be the reason Goku goes Ultra Instinct again it should used against Jiren. I agree with that but In this case though I love seeing Ultra Instinct so much and when that music hits I get so excited I throw logic out the window lol. I do love how special they treat Ultra Instinct where you got to stop what you doing feeling with visuals and music. I don't even think they treated any of the super saiyans the 2nd time this special. Love the reaction and discussions.

Episode 113 Super fails to sell you an idea it even fails with the transformations. when Goku went from base to super saiyan 2 it didn't feel like he got stronger he was still going toe to toe with Kalifa as he did when he was in his base form, back when gohan went from super saiyan to super saiyan 2 you could see and feel the power, here it didn't even move the needle he just changed looks. episode 114 was the better episode imo but even then you could see that the art/ animation was not consistent, i liked this episode better on a re-watch. i hated it the 1st time i watched cuz i felt like they baited me with good art style only for them to go back to crap, they switched it on and off. Jiren twitching when Kale goes Legendary form but nothing when the 2 are fused is very sus,. episode 115 man i did not like this episode the fight was okey, the animation and art was meh too shiny , but worst of all was the ppl on the bench they kept yaping and yaping it was very noticeable in that episode.

Episodes 112 to 116 divided the community between those who liked Saiyan girls and those who hated them. I'd like to give my opinion on the writing, but it would be too long to write, and I'd like to clarify two other points: 1st, the use of the Potara earrings, which is forbidden, is ultimately allowed because Zeno finds it fun, so the rules are pointless. Furthermore, they absolutely have to justify why the other universes don't fuse; otherwise, the plot makes no sense. Whis provides an acceptable justification for Universe 7, Quitela's universe, and the robots' universe, which holds water; otherwise, everything else is poorly justified. 2nd, regarding power levels, there are no inconsistencies. It's clearly explained several times in the episodes by the angels and gods that Goku is very tired from his fight against Jiren and that he's gradually regaining his stamina. Here, when he transforms, he has no choice given the opponent he's facing, and Krillin says, "Goku always exceeds our expectations." Goku in Super Saiyan God form demolished them and nearly eliminated them. Kefla's power level also remains consistent because fusion isn't an addition but a multiplication of power. In DBZ, Goku and Vegeta were initially weaker than Buu, but when they fused into Vegito, he far surpassed Buu in his base form alone, so Kefla can rival the Super Saiyan Blue form of a very tired Goku.

I agree with what you said, but I honestly wish they hadn't make Kefla this strong of a contender that Goku had to reach the UI again, when it was established to be something rare and very difficult to achieve (and he had unlocked it for the first time just 10 minutes before!) I would have left it as a thing to be used only against Jiren, as he had been built up since the start as the ultimate foe for Goku in the tournament, while Kefla felt forced in my opinion.

Why was the 2 minutes long scene with 17 and 18 actually better than the rest of ep 115;__;? That's just my impression while rewatching the episode, Goku reaching the Ultra Instinct against Kefla felt a bit forced and didn't deliver as much as it did against Jiren. Kefla is also not so likeable as a character (I was never able to digest very well the fact that Hit and Cabba had to be eliminated before them and Cabba especially was wasted in favour of his two fellow Saiyans), even if I have absolutely nothing against her design (Kale's and Caulifla's as well.)

Mecha Saiyan

Personally, I thought 114 was a bit more exciting than 115, because it felt like 115 stretched things out a bit to set up the cliffhanger for the next episode. The fighting sequences and animation were more pristine in 114, whereas 115 felt like Kefla was spamming move after move. I must also say that the "power scaling" has been messy and inconsistent in much of Super, and even in the Buu saga, to be honest. But I'm willing to look past that because the good moments are just so good.
